i just did a box with port area about at 81.25" port are tuned between 38 and 39 hz for two aq2.5's would it be better with a smaller port area and be longer into the box i think it sounds good though

I would think to reduce the chance of huffing or port noise I would go with short n fat.

to the OP, (to stay on topic lol), if you reduce your port area, you will reduce the length of the port... (of course that is if you keep the same tuning). So to answer your question, you need to reduce/enlarge the port area and length of the port in the same direction. A "fat and short" port will be a higher tuning that a "long and skinny" port.

If you want it FAT, it has to be LONG too

so lets say you have a 7 cu. ft box and want it tuned to 30Hz, and you have 4x 10" aero ports... would that work?
