07-17-2008, 03:46 AM
If you haven't cut theholes yet, I I would mount the subs further to the rear of the enclosure. It should be louder on there meter like that, if you are looking for some decent numbers.

pjvoc
07-17-2008, 03:52 AM
yes thats my plan they are going as far back as I can, I plan on having the top of the cone .5 inches from the back of the box

nice amp. i used to ran mine at 2 ohms daily and then .5 comp. they didnt like .5 with my particular reactive and i started to have problems with them. as far as the box. next time try grouping things together. and subs farthest back in the box as possible. for daily setups i have generally found its best to have a slot port down the middle and then the subs pushed all the way to the sides and to the back.

uhh too many screws used and no double baffle.

pd8731
07-17-2008, 02:20 PM
Why would you use that amp? And especially at 2 ohms. It's not gonna put out near enough power. Also, why is the box 12 cubes? MMATS recommends 4.5 cubes for each sub.

hemi=22s
07-17-2008, 03:44 PM
box is way to big and how much sq port area per sub u using???

i would at least get some threaded rods to run through that the flex is going to rip those joints apart

JG903
07-17-2008, 04:13 PM
Those subs are going to be pushed to their mechanical limit too easily with that big of a box. Be careful.

07-17-2008, 05:09 PM
so what makes these subs hybrid's?

do they use dreadnaut parts or what?

pjvoc
07-17-2008, 05:51 PM
juggernaut cones, parts from mmatts p3, and dreadnaut motor

The **** is LOUD, I just got everything hooked up so **** yall haters sayin its too big and ****

I don't know the exact numbers on everything since it was designed by my buddy Tim (slumpinhonda), and who cares what mmats requires, that is bare minimum also for reccomended if you read correctly it says (4.5 not recommended for spl setups) or something to that matter, so i think its fine.

and the amp puts out 1700w at 2 ohms, I KNOW it wont get that much, but it will be close, because newer models put out theyre rated power so *** ya too :D and anyway, for competitions ill be running it @ .5 ohms, and eventually for daily when i get a better electrical system

ill be putting up some vids later on tonight!

i didnt use their requirements, i used a design from a guy who has used similar equipment and made good scores... they are **** *** subs regardless

Fro sho. Don't know anyone running a 2600, but if their like the 2000's... they're great amps. But yea, an amp that puts out 2K+ at 2ohms would be more practical.

pjvoc
07-17-2008, 06:41 PM
well the 2 ohms is just temporary, after I get my alt and 2 more batts, Ill be running it daily @ .5 ohms, which that amp can take with proper electrical

dcole18
07-17-2008, 08:48 PM
no they dont

you've bench tested the newest model?

apparently they did make a few "slight" design changes in this years model and are supposed to do rated at 14.4

pjvoc

fwiw, the 2608's are capable of producing rated power.

iirc jake ballard was getting 1700 a piece @ 12.8v W/ something around a 2.5 ohm reactive load. Thats real world power, not dummy loads on a test bench.

But no matter what hifonics does no one will ever be able to say anything good about a brutus amp without someone snickering.

Box is same style box i built one of my other buddies for 4 12inch L7s and one earthquake D2......got hair moving perty good. also the hifonics amps dont do rated power atleast not for me they didnt.........also goin from 16 gauge speaker wire to 8 gauge ive seen almost 2 db gains but not much more goin from 8 to 4 gauge so id say 8 gauge is bout the most necessary.....the 149.1 was done outlaw but equals about a 147 legal by our exp with exploders. so for all the haters leave this kids thread alone, he likes his setup and well so do i, and i am more impressed with it than i thought id be even thing gets down right nasty and with more power watch out that back glass looks like its goin to fly off that **** thing

plans are 2 more batts and another amp later on down the road as far as i know should daily drive over a 150 when its all said and done
