whats an alternative (cheaper, but similar in weight) to 3/4" birch, that i can use for my final trim panel on the wall (also serving as a flush mount for the subs)....The "Blondewood" i used for the whole box, is 45 bux now at lowes..

i need one last sheet, it will be the 3rd baffle on the box. has to be 3/4"

Trupan is nearly the same weight per square foot as Baltic Birch. Wont find it at HD or Lowes though.

why not mdf? cheap but not what i'd call "light" lolz. i'm sure you've considered this though

Just spring for the Birch. It's only $10 more around here, I don't know about where you live.

Here:

MDF: $29.99

Birch: $39.99 (Lowes, good looking stuff too)

a 1" Birch 4 x 8 sheet is $120 here :(

Baltic Birch is almost impossible to find anywhere around here

and MDF is $32 per sheet
