Well, I just got a 2001 Blazer about a week ago and have already started putting some of my audio in.

Equipment:

HU - pioneer 4800 until I can find a decent hu to run active with on the low
Front stage - undecided
Front stage amp - undecided
Sub Stage - D1 18'' BTL
Sub amp - IA 20.1 at .5 ohms
Electrical - Will be doing the Big 3 soon, and will also be buying 50 ft of klm wire, a new alt, and probably 2 or 3 deka's as I will be running more power soon

Car: 2001 Chevrolet Blazer

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/icpurplepplalot/caraudio.jpg

The box for the BTL is 6 cubes tuned to 32 hz with 102 sq in of port.

Now on to the building of the box.

Got Port?

Box will be double baffled, I just laid one of the baffles on their for a test fit.

As for finishes, I think I am going to cover it in bed liner and call it a day. Check back later for more updates as I get more stuff in.

BTW I have to give credit for the box design to psych0ticnemes1, he did an excellent job, and I will definitely be going back to him for further designs.

Here are a couple picks of the equipment I'll be putting in it thus far.

TeamPSI's btl he was selling:

And my 20.1:

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/icpurplepplalot/caraudio037.jpg

Disregard the smudge on my camera lens, I didn't notice it was there when I took the pics, and don't feel like taking new ones.

If I'm not satisfied with it this way I may try that. I enjoy building the boxes anyways.

I am probably going to pick up another 20.1 down the line as well.

Find a place to ground the amp? I couldn't find any good place so I ended up bolting it to the rear selt bolt.

Haven't even looked yet. I have literally only had the car for a week. Might just take it directly to the frame underneath.

I wouldn't risk drilling there...the gas tank is right below the cargo area in the back.

I'll have to figure something out then when I get in there next week sometime to hook everything up.

Finished up the box today. I still have to sand some of the edges to make them flush, and then primer it and coat it in bed liner.

I want one of those 40.1's bad, just can't afford it right now even if I sell my 20.1. And I will definitely have to come by to meter it, when I finish getting everything set up, and listen to the Rs.

We'll see what I can come up with, I still need to find some batts on the low, and finish my fronstage.

I sold the 12'' btl the other day actually

Yeah I'm hoping a .5 ohms that this 20.1 will get the btl moving plenty.

Thanks, I'm fond of them as well

Knu flex is too expensive for me lol, I just bought klm.

Hopefully within the next two week I'll have everything bought and/or installed.

Appreciate the compliment :)

No real updates right now. Missed the fedex guy earlier, so the sub will be delivered Monday hopefully. I am also getting an NSB 125 within the next week or two so my electrical should be set for now, but I will be upgrading my alt down the road.

Just a heads up..the cooling is not going to work with that basket, and it looks like there's 1 lead shorter then the rest of the 3..it might break...

Finsihed installing everything this morning. It looks like *** right now as I quickly installed it, but later on I'll make everything pretty. It's loud as balls right now though, and I still need to tune my amp.

It's just the way the sub was positioned that makes it look like one lead is shorter than the rest, now as for the cooling I have no idea, TeamPSI built this sub.

I plan on tinkering with a couple different boxes. CRX style was what I was going to build at first, but decided to do a traditional port.

Later on tonight, or tomorrow I'll post up some pics and vid of the system. I can tell you know though that my blazer is not happy with its new additions.

Still looks like poop, haven't had time to work on it aesthetically. Got a new paging alarm out in Saturday, and also got it metered on an ac190. The guy said that from what he has seen with his meter, it's between 1-4 db's off from a tl, and as of right now I am hitting a 152 in the kick on music. Let's hope it is only 1 or 2 db's off ;)

Still working on vids, I need to get some batts for my camera

Thanks for the kind words, I still can get alot more out of it though. The BTL is still stiff as hell, and I am about to get more power for it, maybe another 20.1 or a 40.1, I have to see how my money holds up though when my classes start back up soon.
