beautiful impala!

I came across a 96 SS near my girl's home.. the owner was asking 10k for it.. only 60k original miles on it and interior was flawless.. but right front fender is been hit by someone who did a "hit and run" so it needed to be replaced and that was it..

I wanted it so bad, but I did not have 10k at that moment..

edit: wonder how much did you get that impala for? if you dont mind me asking.. thanks

i am not cutting up a original 96 ss, everything i did to this car is able to convert to stock at anytime

except for the 2 bolt holes for the box to the floor and the small hole drilled in the a pillars for the tweets,
i have an extra set from the junkyard and i put 3 gauges in the custom a pillar on drivers side

door kit were Gt factory 90* doors, off the car now since its gettin traded in, i paid a shop in miami to put em on thats all they do lifetime warranty on parts and labor he does great work had no probs with air, leaking, could drive with doors up no probs
loved em now if only i could talk my fiance' into the new challenger and lambo that up on some 24"s hmmmm

Cheap if its lower miles, i have seen low mileage ones go for over $20k, miles dont mean **** to me, 200,000 or more the better, then ill put a LS1 in the LT1s place when the motor blows!! And it would when i get it!

LT1 is a vette engine right?

yep they put i beleive a toned down engine in it 260 hp and 330tq on the 96 model less on 94-95

"At the same time, a potent new 260-horsepower version of the 5.7-liter V8 became optional--an evolution of the LT1 engine in Corvettes. That V8 was standard in the Impala SS. For its final year (1996), torque output on the LT1-based engine peaked at lower engine speed."

Yeah and in 1996 they switched to Analog gauges over the digital gauges in the 94 and 95s, 1994 had digital gauges and column shift, 1995 floor shift became optional but still had the digital gauges, and in 1996 they came out with analog gauges, with the added tachometer, and standard floor shift which is sweet!! And 1996s were standard with a limited slip differential, 94-95s were optional, most being 1 wheel wonders!!

Other than any local autoparts store can scan your codes.

HAHAHAHAHA

Everything from the heads to the cam, to the block are different. Even the MAF sensors are different.

Same HP/TQ numbers for every year of the B and D bodies.

How does the engine peak at lower RPMs? Same cam, same heads, same TC, same ****ing driveline.

I have the best of intentions when I say this: You sir are a morAn and need to get your info straight before you try acting like you know something.

95 was a standard column shifter with the digital gauges.

There wasnt an option for the floor shifter till 96.

Also, every Impala that came of the line had an Auburn posi.

A big fan of them, and thats what i always read about them, when i was searching info on them!

WTF are you getting your info? cardomain? myspace?

yeah there is quite a bit difference i agree, the number are not the same ***** look at gm specs 95 vs 96 impala

and i took that quote with the different torque band off consumer reports so get ur facts straight u dumb ***** i have owned a 95 and a 96 at the sametime both of the above were mine at one point gave the 96 to my brother and sold the 95 to my best friend and there is a considerable difference with the 96 off the line

OK first off you said that the 96 LT1 was better, then I asked you why other than its obd2. You in return gave me interior options and how its OBD2.

I'm done arguing about you knowing nothing...

Powertrain Options and Availability
Only one powertrain was available for the '91 Caprice: Chevrolet's 5.0-liter fuel-injected V8, sending its 170 horsepower to a 4-speed automatic transmission. A 5.7-liter V8, optional in 1992-93 wagons (standard in '93 LTZ sedan), produced only 10 more horsepower than the 5.0, but 45 more pound-feet of torque--just right to haul heavy loads and tow big trailers. For 1994, a 4.3-liter V8 replaced the 5.0-liter, hooked to a new electronically controlled transmission and making 200 horsepower. At the same time, a potent new 260-horsepower version of the 5.7-liter V8 became optional--an evolution of the LT1 engine in Corvettes. That V8 was standard in the Impala SS. For its final year (1996), torque output on the LT1-based engine peaked at lower engine speed.

biggest reason for not getting a 94 over a 95-96 is the mirrors are on the door in 94 and 96 there on the side front vent window spot. also rear side vent window uses a cap to round it off in 94 and 95-96 don't
