I just installed this component set in my mustang vert and the drivers side mid "pops" whenever a bass note hits when volume is only turned half way. Only had them hooked up to a rf 450.4 bridged for like 2 hours of play time. Could this be blown already?

What does AP mean on that amp "all pass" in other words no filter?
Edit:
I looked on amp guts, the 400.1 has a 3 way slider LP - AP - HP. I'm going
out on a limb and saying that AP means no crossover.
Your speakers are blown. You should have run your crossover at HP and selected
about 60-80Hz.

But I dont hear it on the other mid. Its getting plenty of power. I have a rf 450.4 thats bridged going to them so its over 100 watts rms to each speaker. Whats the easiest way to set the gain and what should I have the filter set to?

Yup, that worked! I was just about to return these too. Now I need to figure out how to set the gain. Is it different with different amps?

These guys are right they pobably are just bottoming out. I read your post wrong
and thought only one side's was popping and not the other. My bad.

No, you read right. Only one side was popping but I switched the crossover and cranked it @ 80hz and no popping!
