bout to set gains again on my polk momo set 6.5 comps and they are rated for 125rms i have been giving them 135rms for about a month and seem to be able to handle it

so i was wondering if they could handle another 15rms to 150rms per side

in the maunal it says recommended amplification 250watts

just make sure you dont here any distortion. 15 watts shouldnt be that much of a diference . 150 sound lethal. but if set up right it should be able to handle it

well i set it at 150rms and 0db on the crossover for the tweets and my hu i have set at +2 or +4 depending on song might just keep it at +2 for a week or two to let them adjust to the power difference

i ran it at +4 for bout 10 mins at full tilt and the tweet was a lil warm and i could kinda of smell it but i mean the sub i could smell and was warm as well and i am only giving my subs half power so i think its normal

tweeters a lil warm and a slight smell is that horrible or is that ok

Should smell better if you crank the gains a little higher.

**** what an informative thread!!! haha....speaking of smell.....today my truck smelled too, i think i was running my subs too hard...i was ****in around with the amp settings and there was this weird smell kinda like leather cleaner.

I never smelled tweeters until they were toasted. Subs on the other hand...they's some stinky bastards when played hard for a while...depending on their rating, and your power
