hey is 1.5" thick mdf good for box making..it will be used for a 9515g...im no expert at it but im sure the 9515g can tear up some thin wood right?...so yeah any help is appreciated

1.5" MDF will be heavy stuff. 3/4" or 1" is plenty.

You do not need 1" MDF; .75" well braced will be sufficient and cheaper.

I use Blondewood (birch) 3/4" from lowes, its $37 a sheet, but its alot lighter than MDF, and easier to work with and less dust IMO.

i'd go with that, you can double that up for 1.5" and it will prally be the same as a single sheet of 3/4" mdf. its so much lighter..

Just use MDF. It's cheaper, and the cheap plywoods at home depot and lowes have numerous voids within them that can resonate when pressurized.

if you haven't built it yet,also try hdf,it is more expensive and a little heavier but it is more dense.justa thought.:cool:
