SQL Box for a 12" RE HC

Would 3.5 cubes tuned to 40HZ be a good SQL Box for a 12" HC?

I want to build a new box for my HC. Pretty much got a SPL box but I want something that would bring out the best of both worlds out of this sub.

Building may be a problem with my daughter and playing Daddy/Mommy. Anyone here with great box building skills can help me out?

Tune it lower...around 30-33 hz...

Wouldn't that be leaning more towards SQ?

However the Specs do state that 35 HZ would be good for a SPL daily driver.

My SPL box is 1" MDF. Should I go the same for the new box?

I'd say 33 hz would be best tuning for SQL...

1" MDF is good...but so is 3/4", it's up to you ;)

Try 2.5 tuned to 35hz, with about 30inches of port. David recommended that size. I couldn't fit that size in the girls car where she wanted it to go...so I built 2.027 cubes tuned to 36.89 and 30 inches of port...I'll let you know how it sounds next week... good luck.
