whats rasoal's wall tuned to?

Cool. I'm sure it will be done right and very clean.

Rasoal is supposedly tuned to 35 Hz, but the low notes absolutely **** in his truck. I'm not sure what might be wrong and he won't really let me dig in to find out what I am doing wrong . Walls are still a little perplexing to me so it will be interesting to see how yours turns out. I am looking forward to seeing the build pics.

P.S. You need to hear my new setup :p: :D!!

word?

i dont remember trying to listen to low notes on his truck, but all the stuff i heard sounded excellent

a guy has 2 BTls here in damon's old box and just made kindof a wall out of it, crx style box with subs firing foward and port to ceiling and lows sounded real good on it

well **** man, its gonna look good, and probably sound even better, even though fosgate *****.... no offense, but ill stick with FI

yea, i loved my Fi's but these arnt cheap subs, and had a great price on them, some nice subs in person

Yeah, most notes sound great but the **** low notes are just really elusive in his truck. I'm not really sure why that is, but it definitely will not go very low.

That's all fine and good, but the guy is not really walled off so you are going to still be able to pick up some of the lows regardless of how the box is positioned.

I definitely hope that you will have better success than we did with the wall. Don't get me wrong, anything over 35 Hz will absolutely rip your head off in Rasoal's truck.

I guess the bracing just had a way of looking pretty fancy. I don't think the expected crowd will be a disappointment. There are alot of folks talking about the shows so I think turnout will be good.

i just dont see how people fit some of these walls in smaller vehicles, bad enough trying to fit these in mine, i guess they do in car builds:crap:

deadened the whole roof, plus expanding foam, and tried something new, went to a local foam place and got them to cut me a 4x8 sheet of memory foam 1/2" thick, glued that onto the roof< that thing is solid now, that foam really helped out alot, 45$ for the sheet, you might could do other pads, but the memory foam has good weight to it, works great

never really seen anyone else mention it, i didnt think about getting pics until the headliner was put back up, so fail there

pics in a bit

Skip01
06-07-2008, 08:21 PM
Im gonna steal that memory foam idea from ya haha

How much deadener you used for roof?

bamaboy
06-08-2008, 02:11 PM
well 1pk of RF deadener stuff which was 20 sqft< probably 20 more of second skin

pretty solid roof now, dont know how it will fare on TL score, but ride is also alot quieter it seems

if you cant find it locally i can get it cut and mailed for you, 50$ after tax for the sheet and what ever shipping is, or you might can find one of those mats at walmart or somewhere for the bed, but its usually pretty thick

thanks guys, this isnt my work though, i dont have the patience for those braces :crap:

because the boxes are a tad bit different sizes, we did 4 holes and going to bolt it together and bolt it to the frame of the truck, that way making it a somewhat common chamber box

pretty solid boxes, going to be another layer of wood on the front of the box too so it will be a little stronger

well we actually coulda had it playing yesterday afternoon, but it didnt feel like rushing everything in there, i want some time to test and tune it, had the box in and bolted down, but i just undid the bolts taking it to our other store to get tint on the back windows so you cant see the box and such

onto the pics

box with front cover piece on, you can see some bondo in few places, the bearing came off the flush bit on the router and started eating in to the wood, its perfect now though

Yeah, Ive had my wall in for about a week now. It definitely takes some getting used to. I am going to have to buy those round blind spot stick on mirrors for my side mirrors as I have no side vision except out the front doors. I hate those things...but I have to do something. I just got a touchscreen flip out as well so I need to buy a backup camera for that.
It's definitely a challenge!

bamaboy
06-11-2008, 11:32 PM
how hard was it to get the box in there?

my box was 19cubes gross, like 16 net, its a tight fit

im assuming with it being a truck you have some decent size mirrors, the ones on my explorer arnt that big, but i can still look out my back door windows to see some, but not behind me

Yeah the mirrors are larger than normal, but still need to get those round blind spot mirrors. Im not happy about it. :furious:

was fun though

havnt really got anythign done since then, tomorrow will have some good updated pics, grabbed the vinyl today, got as close as i could to my factory interior color, pretty dang close in person

also got my back windows tinted saturday so you cant see the amps or box, i dont see how people could drive around with it that dark on all windows, would be hard as hell at night

also got all the wires ran there, just have to mount the amps and go, wires are pretty organized, just thrown about now, also picking up my 2 Deka intimidators g31's tomorrow for the rear, have another new deka up fornt i got like a week ago, havnt installed it yet thought

whats external dimensions on your old btl box

bamaboy
07-18-2008, 07:28 PM
nothing much new yet, we got the outer trim piece cut and vinyl'd, got the bottom piece cut and vinyl'd, they are sitting at the shop, need to put them back in, lot louder with it sealed off from the back, need to get it on the mic at work and play around with it, still have yet to mess with the tweeter pods yet, got the pro's back up front coaxially

sounds good so far, cant complain for the price of all these parts and still looks pretty good with the pieces on there and vinyl stuff

i think were gonna do fiberglass on the back amp rack dont know yet with the price of resin like it is, i thought it was cheaper

deminsions of old box is 44 wide i know, and i think 22 high with 3 pieces of 3/4" top baffle, and 34 deep
not sure on the last 2

videos to come soon

also im very happy with the deka g31's i have, some excellent batteries for dam sure

its louder, sounds alot different, lows were better on the 18s, but pretty much everything else is louder with the wall, the 15s are smoother to me, but not by much

you have the 2 sets of ppi's dont you? send the pillars this way and a blank check and we will get them done :D

i was never a fan of the goliath, probably because it left a bad taste in my mouth, blew twice, i would take the T40001bd over the goliath, to me its a better quality amp, but the goliath still puts out alot of power

not sure...thats what it is, there is a few inches before you get to the back seat wasted amd enough room behind for the group 31s and more room before you hit the back gate

room up top and in front, but the back slopes down so had to angle the box to fit, but had to make it wider to get same airspace as bottom box

hmm. sounds good though. im thinking of doing a backup camera, how did you set yours up? and did you just leave the back windows? (not on the trunk)

never put the backup camera on and they eventually needed the one i had to do an install so i gave it back, will pick one up now since i have the new unit

sanyo has a new backup camera that looks cool, it has a processing unit that has a few options, it can take away the fisheye lens look of back up cameras and it will give you a birds eye view of what your doing with just the one camera, also if you mount it off center it has a way of centering the image up somehow, but expensive i think retail is 299$ now i just need to get them to order one for cheap :)

well on my expedition, the very back windows that would normally be beside the 3rd row seats open out a little bit in the back. well on 1200watts they vibrate like crazy. did you just like caulk yours shut or did you replace them or something? just so they wouldent rattle or is that not a problem for you

nah, was going to fiberglass it but with cost of resin and amount of time to do it, just wasnt that important to me, im just gonna leave it like it is

those two seperate boxes?

yes and no, its 2 seperate boxes built, but they are common chamber-ish, holes cut into them and bolted together since the top box is a tad bit smaller than the bottom

Looks really nice! This is how it always should look after dumping a ton of money into an expensive system, lol!

Enjoy!

thanks, for what it is i really didnt pay too much money all together, and everything in there was brand new with full warranty and such

but usually overtime i get tired of the system and find flaws i want to change out, but im loving the hertz stuff, sounds excellent, and i dont need or want any more bass than the 15s i have now, everything is done for now, only thing next is taking the wall out and stepping down to a regular box

i hear junk systems all day, makes me feel better when i get in my truck to go home to have something that actually sounds good
