Which of the two would you all go with? Im looking for a bright tweeter so I would go with the aluminum with the CDTs but Im not sure about the Cadence set. I have a Cadence ZRS9004 that will be powering them. Honestly, my CL61a's just aren't cutting it.

I dont know much about that Cadence set but the CWM6s are really nice....I believe Jason Paul, the Cadence rep, recommended them over the CVLs if I remember right despite the fact that CVLs cost more...

that CDT set is pretty good IMO...couldn't handle a brighter tweeter than the silk though

Are we comparing 700 dollar speakers to 200 dollar speakers?

we're comparing if you look at msrp possibly. As for what I'd be paying, no. they're close in price.

In that case I would go with the cdt's then as my cl62's have great midbass and very good sound overall and i can imagine the es62i should be a stellar set

The Cadence have insane power handling with the 3" VC's.

So that's why they are good:rolleyes:

I think Ill have plenty of bass from the subs im getting, so I dont know if midbass is an issue. I want louder vocals, midbass isnt too much of a concern for me.

I love my CVL-6ks....I decided to run 8" midbass drivers just because I could though...

I however, can't comment on the CDT. Too bad CAF is down...there is a link floating around on there to get the CVL-6k's for $169 shipped!. I paid $199 and they were definitely worth it.

CAF isnt that great of a place so up or down doesnt matter ;) Im sure JasonPaul can get found without the site :) Im debating on getting rid of my CDT 61a t25 setup and get one or the other. I may just go with the CVL's since they're cheaper.

which ES set is it though? The older yellow coned set of the brown and orange set? And which crossover are you getting with it? Both the yellow and the brown/orange set are nice but the newer brown set performs the better of the two.

I was simply letting him know that if power handling was an issue with his last comps he would not have that issue with the Cadence.

Have you heard Focal comps? They have a very strong and bright tweeter as well as great SQ and power handling.

I have heard of focal.

Alteraudio,
its the newer orange series with the DRT 26 tweeters in aluminum housings, I cant remember which xover though.

I finally got my replacement speaker in yesterday and installed it, so now I have them in both front doors. i changed the db setting from 0 to +3. it seems to have made quite a bit of difference in the tweeter. After hearing them like this, I think titanium would be too harsh. Aluminum is going to be the way to go if I stick to CDT.
