opinions on sub facing back, ported (forward) in thc cab of my 93 lincoln tc thru rear seats i got plenty of room to tune it to 38 (subs Fs) and then some. my seat will be made to fit around the port, my options are subs up or back

As was already said, a traditional 1/4 wave TL will be far too large to fit in a trunk car for those subs. Just do a ported box as there's really no benefits in car audio to do a TL. I'm sure JBLcamry will interject, but truly, there isn't.

In this case i would agree with you, but i can't say that i was disappointed with my old setup.
