I want to fit 6.5 components into a 6x9 spot on a grand cherokee, then make adapters for the 1inch tweeters to go in the stock location on the dask.

Would adapters like these on ebay work well? (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&itemcount=12&sspagename=MERC_VI_RSCKCK_Pr12_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT&_trkparms=algo%3DDR%26its%3DS%252BI%252BSS%26itu%3 DISS%252BUCI%252BSI%26otn%3D3&usedrule2=CrossSell_LogicX&refwidgetloc=active_view_item&usedrule1=StoreCatToStoreCat&viewitem=&refitem=310051540488&item=310050188277&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget&_trksid=p284.m184) I have heard plastic is not good material to mount on. The only alternative I could think of would be putting a layer of deading on the plastic for the speaker to mount into or making mdf adapters.

How much would it cost to make mdf adapters? I do not own a jigsaw but could probably borrow one..
