just wondering is this HU able to run active or have some settings to adjust the crossover point or if i am running my comps passive crossover points on the HU donest matter do they.

just wondering if aynone has input on this or whats better for the money

well what kind of Hu should i look into i know no time soon i will go active so do i need something that has eq's with it so i can adjust the freq's or does the crossover on the amp and speakers do that

Because they don't want to go the trunk every time they wanna change settings and all amps are not active capable.

it wont run active. It has high and low pass filters though. i dont think you can beat Pioneers PRS decks for the money. Maybe Alpine 9887....

active means the headunit can switch the rcas from front/rear/sub into high pass/band pass/sub

you control the tweeter with the high bass
mids/woofer with the bandpass
and sub with the low pass

it can get very indepth

for me its not really worth it

I have ran active before and it just didnt give me the reslults I wanted


I ran it with a CDT CL set( the $300 set not the cheap)
I think if I had choose my own mids and tweets I would have liked it more

Stop feeding stupid info, not all amps can run active, and that HU cannot.

ur all wrong maybe if ur lucky u can get a nakamichi those kill pioneer alpine anyday a used nakamichi would goo very good

well i am not looking for a super HU that can run full active just something i can adjust like a friend of mine could adjust the hz on the bass and hz on the tweeters from the hu for the bass he had like 80-150hz and for the tweets was like 10k-17.5k or something like that

i have a zx850.4 for amp and looking for a decent Hu that has a usb hookup so i can plug in my flash drive

i can try im just stating my opinions on whats has worked for me if u know more by all means state ur opinion help the guy out u seem to try to show up more then helping him , but like i said all depend on ur budget king i dont always trust the head unit, but i know the prs is a ok head unit. i like nakamichi better for performance but not every one is ganna pay crazy money for a cd player

i just got the deh-680 i still say the prs is the best for the money thos i think they go for like $250 they have alot more to play with plus 5 voltr output
