I am doing a build for 97 DODGE Ram 4x4, I am going to Lift it with 10-13in of lift (have the skyjacker springs, pitman arm, and track bar) and i'm also going to put a alpine IVA-d 300 (have) 4-10in alpine type R's (getting this week) us amps merlin md2d (have) 2-7in monitors (have) alpine mrv-f545(have) don't have the door speakers yet not sure what I am gonna use. I have 100sq ft of fat mat, I am fixing the head linner now I was fiberglassing it but I think I am gonna carpet it instead of just smooth, I ordered the new carpet for the floor (waiting) also new covers for the front seats(waiting) I have to glass the dash , its got 2 cracks so I will glass and repaint, I am gonna repaint the truck along with the lift. I have already replaced the battery with an optima red top. I'm sure I am forgeting something be figured I would post before I start all the work so there is start to finish, will post pics as I go along :D

im guessing ram 1500? a 2500 cummins would be sick. a whole truck lifting thread seems way off in this forum  are u doing a mut/mix suspesion on it? or is it all from skyjacker? im guessing on top of the 10 suspension a 3 body?

NMBR1SPT
04-21-2008, 07:49 PM
Maybe ? I wanna see it on 10 of susp first, I wish on the 2500, I bought the truck new back in 97 b4 all the diesel hype, most of the lift will be SJ but the audio and video on this will fit right in this forum.

Here's a link with some pics to raise the seat 4", think I'm gonna do this to mine so I can keep the back seat too. In case ya need some extra air space, it's tight under the rear benches.

That is a sweet plan man. Definately taller than I would build unless I were building a mud bug. I can't wait to see it all finished though.

Those tires are about the coolest looking tires you can buy. They look like they will work well if they ever see mud. I hear they don't wear so well though.

Nice, I have 2 kids and one on the way, and I just don't wanna throw 4 people in the truck everytime I go somewhere LOL thats why only so high. how did you fire your mmats and was it ported or sealed?

I had them fired towards the rear of the seat in 2 seperate slanted boxes that were ported in a 1.25 cu ft box can't remember the measurments though i have them in my F-250 with 3 cu ft in a ported box and the sound a lot better

Hey how are you going to get the headliner back in after you glass it? I assume its still semi-flexable, but I did a headliner the other day and wanted to glass it but I was affraid I couldnt get it back in since it was so tight coming out.

cost me 190 , I priced out the dash, alone it was 200 for just the dash, so for the price for the dash, I got it installed also, the entire dash has to come off for this.........

that would look sick ..

Looking good so far, I Just bought my 96 Dodge.

Its got a system, but it very craptastic, hope to make a tear down / rebuild thread soon.

Ive got all the massive dash crackege like most, and it *****.

Ive got 9" of lift, on 35" Tires, soon going add 3" body light with 39's or 40"s. Shes a mud queen more then trails.

Lifted trucks are stupid to begin with, but then to lift them just for show(as indicated by wheel choice) it becomes redneck bling. I can only imagine the nice audio system will be used to blast some twangy sappy melody coupled with a sorry *** story about losing everything in life. Interested in the audio part, but other than that, the truck is crap.

VERY nice build log!! This truck should look FANTASTIC when complete!!!

For the box, I would glass an armrest and cup holders between the seats while also using it for air space to the back of the truck. I don't have PS or anything like that, but hopefully you understand what i mean.

Lastly, new brakes??? Please tell me you are going with bigger brakes!!!

looks good, but could be improved.
crossover placement = awful
old, dulled headlights and tails = awful.
they give away the truck's age like crows feet on a woman's face.
these changes are crucial.

also waiting on new mirrors off of the newer trucks 98-01s

Nitto mudgrapplers are ok Super swamper SSR are a better mud radial with better street manners. They ride good and arent very loud at all. And yes ive used/rode with both tires.

what an amazing looking truck. I have a 2005 Dakota with a single RE Audio XXX 15. I wanna do a blow thru and lift up the truck with an airbag lift kit.so deflated its proper ride height.
