Ok, I'll give a pic, before anyone asks, we don't have pricing or specs on them yet, all I can say is they will be a 1500wRMS range driver. We don't even have a date range on when they will be available. They will be in 12" 15" & 18" versions though. Black baskets, and some cosmetic changes will be made.

***15" Version pictured.

Got most of the deadening done today. Burned through a huge box of it. Thanks to Second Skin Audio (http://www.secondskinaudio.com)for such a fine product! :woot:

Ok, since the roof was the worst part of this blazer, we put 4 layers on that bad boy and let me tell you, it's solid now. I hope those 18's don't rip this apart. On to the pics.

update...

Well going into this build we knew that there where two huge main concerns with the "prep" work.

1. Make that roof solid
2. Get rid of all the rattles that have plagued that poor blazer (GM's poor design)

So, after 4 layers deep on the roof I feel confident that we solved that problem but the squeaks and rattles where a whole new issue now that we got to put the truck back together. Since we didn't get to the doors yet deadener wise (ran out) I thought i'd run down to the fabric store and pick up all new fasteners for the doors since those cause alot of the squeaks.

Added all new fasteners to the doors, carefully assemblied the rest of the truck back to it's original self and isolated only two rattles left which I feel confident we can fix tomorrow with some double sided sticky tape. Here's a few pics of the truck back together...then it's on to the box and the rest of the system...anyways, here's a few pics.

Well the locations that there is matting and resin, provides extra strength to the structure of the box, the rest of the resin might add minimal strength, but I allways just brush a small layer over the bare wood becuase it makes paint look that much better on it.

Painted the port to closely match the exterior color of the truck. Also dry fitted the box in the truck. Still lots of work to do, amp rack, batt rack, save room for the spare tire, should get pretty tight.

nG

The battery on the side isn't limiting the width, it's the distance between the fender wells that is only 37.5"

The Blazer has 37.5" for width and the outer dimensions of a 18" Fi BTL is 18.65" so 18.65"x2=37.3" which gives you just barely enough room to mount them so they load equally into the port.

I was barely able to fit (2) 18's horizontally when I built my 37.5" wide box shown below. The thing about my box that I didn't like was that it was tuned way to low. But I fixed that by cutting off the rear top corner matching it to the same angle of my rear window which not only allows me to push the box all the way back and let me use the rear seats, but also raised the tuning from about 28hz to about 35hz...

You guys can swing by and try the subs out in this box if you want, the bracing is all upgraded and is resined inside I have no use for it anymore. I could probably drop it off to you since I have access to a pickup truck...

http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/9285/finishedboxkb1.jpg

Here is what I was talking about when I said I took the top corner off, it's now 13.5 cuft @ 35hz...

Cool man for sure, I'll hit you guys up this weekend or whenever the subs get in and call me up.

Also John, they are in the process of totaling out my ride.... I get another chance to head over there to get some stuff out of my car, but I'm not sure when. We should head up together and do a quick switcharoo on the 260amp irragi alternator in there Also swap out your tailights, headlights and clear corners for mine. Then take off the custom grill, etc. I'd rather hook you up cheap then go through the hassle of selling everything on ebay.

You can throw a couple bills at me or something to hook me up :D

I'm sure that your box will get hella loud. I've been watching some vids of people using that same design with 18's and it looks loud!

I didn't get the idea from you Raymond, I've been doing that since the '90s. No reason to scrap yours, more logos out there the better. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Got some more equipment in today. A set of BNIB Kinetik HC2400's, (2) sets of MOAB EMP 6.5 Component sets. Saturday, we're doing the big three, and next week we'll have a Iraggi 300amp alt going into it. Should be coming along nicely. Electrical is almost there, we'd like a few more batts, but the three 2400's he has now will have to do for the mean time. On to the pics.

The 18s are doing pretty well on fast paced music. I was always under the impression that the larger the sub got that harder it was to produce fast bass notes. But sounds good man.

Power ultimately decides how quickly a sub can start and stop. The more power you have, the more control you have.
