Just thought I'd start up a good list of links to fiberglassing information, tutorials, and the like. Should be helpful for those wanting to get into fiberglass work so we don't have to see a torrent of the same questions all the time.

Feel free to add some others I haven't already listed here and I can add them directly to the list. Can we get a sticky here?

They just updated their site with loads of new tutorials. Some very useful information, I might add.

Here's sort of a walkthrough of how I built my sub enclosure. (http://www.sounddomain.com/member_pages/view_page.pl?page_id=304268&page=4)

Here's a great spot with lots of info on how to do fiberglass work. (http://www.termpro.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum;f=32) Especially check out the thread labled "fiberglass anyone?"

This forum has some of the most talented fabricators I've seen. (http://www.carsound.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=forum;f=4) You'll find many pics of very impressive installs, a lot of them including pics of the steps they went through to get there.

For some reason your links are coming up as an email address.

I do agree mabeita and Matt are very talented. There is also another user that frequents both termpro and carsound named Mpipes. He's a very knowledgable fellow too.

Here's Mabeita's Famous 5 Star "Fiberglass anyone" thread.

And here's http://www.carsound.com where you will find mister Borgardt. :)

Sorry about that guys. Every other board I've been on has a URL button there instead of a "mail to" button. I figured out how to do it correctly now, so click on the above quote and it will work.

I wanted to make a set of housings for my new tweeters for my comps because they are bigger then then hole in the stock housings but i want them to go in the factory position just for simplicity. could i just use the old housings as my mold and leave a bigger opening?

-Mac .

What are the housings made out of ? Would it be possible to widen the mounting holes in the existing housings ? What your talking about will work. But you will end up with a reverse negative mold. meaning you will have to use the inside of it to mold your new tweeter housings. Which means it needs you need to be as smooth as possible when laying your glass. :)
