Been working on this for about 10 days now and MUST have it done by Friday.

Box is Trupan with Baltic Birch front panels. 10.25^3 @ 38Hz for 2 AQ 18's. Around 170^2 of port, 45's in the corners, and a bunch of bracing. Gray fleckstone with Mahogony stain on the BB and flat black port. Still need to get clear on the BB and add a few more things to finish it off.

Can't wait to here those AQ's do their thing

Got a 3rd one I need to start on and finished up a 18^3 sono the other week for an
18" RL-P, so I've been bustin my *** lately. This "hobby" is turning into a job, now only if it paid well...

Wood should JUMP out once I get some clear coat on it. It's just stained right now, so actually dull as hell...

Port was covered so no dust would get in there as I had the torpedo heater going and it makes the garage a dust storm...

What did you cover?

Wow, looking forward to this completion, it kind of reminds me of the box we discussed just with light carpet instead of dark. Im digging this alot.

Carpet would have been SOOOOO much easier. I spent 8+ hours just prepping the box for paint. Plus 8 cans of fleckstone, 6 cans of clear, and a LOT of masking tape.

Hopefully the clear on the panels goes easier...

I "think" 46 1/2"w x 22h x 30something deep. Plans I worked up are out in the garage and it's getting late

Was originally 47" wide, but someone did some "mexican math" and didn't measure his vehicle properly. Martin you can raise your hand now  Of course he tells me this AFTER I designed it and cut all the panels. Luckily I didn't start assembing it yet...

If I had to do it over I would have done all Trupan and sunk the front a 1/4" and just layed in 1/4" BB panels, but apparently I like to do things the hard way...

Just realized some way tired ******* messed up the title, box is for sleepy_jr....guess he's not the only sleepy one.

I'm quite pleased with how the stain turned out, really brings out the grain in the wood and should match his woodgrain trim pretty well.

Can't wait to hear those 18's. Then I'll have to find room for a bigger box in my trunk....

mlstrass

Got the box all done and Martin picked it up tonight. Powered by a Mean Machine giving each sub around 2k. Thing is violent to say the least. His poor SUV was taking a beating, major flexing everywhere.

Only problem is my dumb *** forgot to get finished pics. He's heading to a meet tomorrow, so I'll get pics next week.

What's with the mspaint edit on the first pic?

Perhaps some sort of smoking apparatus?

Came out very nice and black/red would look pretty pimp in your ride. Actually red metallic front panel might be even better. Could get some factory paint, so it matches perfectly.

Got another box I'll be working on for the next few weeks, so hopefully you'll decide on subs by then and I can work something up...

Cool on the pics and not getting rained out. How was the meet? What did they think of your set up?

Michele said she heard us in the ACE parking lot, thought we were in the driveway. LOL

Funny you say that. When I was flexing at the meet a park ranger came by to see what the major noice was, said he heard and felt the vibrations from his office which was 1/4 mile away:eek:.

Everyone was speechless

A guy at the meet I attended for another forum called Trailvoy took a short vid. My truck is in there at the biggining. Some bumping, though he didn't take vid of it flexing. I'll take a flex vid as soon as I can.

I heard this dude's setup last night at Mlstrass' house yesterday and that **** is crazy. I really don't know why anybody needs to be that loud. We rode over to a store parking lot and the guys at the house knew every song he demoed from blocks away. Not to start any controversy or give mlstrass more work than he can handle, but it was worth taking that long trip from chicago to shoot the **** with him. If you need a box go to him. He won't let you down. I still don't see how he got 2 15s in that Altima, but he did.

mlstrass
08-17-2008, 10:41 AM
