View Full Version : FS: Dell Inspiron 2650 laptop

1.6ghz Pentium 4
128mb PC2100 DDR(definately needs more)
20gb hard drive, one partition
14.1" LCD
cd/rw burner
3.5" floppy
Windows XP SP3 w/all current updates
Office Enterprise 2007
AC Adapter

I just bought this last week with a corrupt MBR(master boot record) which caused it to blue screen on boot. The previous owner didn't want to mess with it so I picked it up with the intention of fixing it and giving it to my roomates son for what I paid. He is getting his license soon so he has decided he would rather save up money for car insurance than have a laptop to mess with so now I am just selling it.

Lcd has a nice picture, not washed out or faded
Lcd hinges are stable, no wobble
All keys on the keyboard work well
Touchpad and mouse buttons work well
Sound and speakers work well

LCD has a few rubs on it, but they cant be seen unless the screen is off or all black
Two very small cracks on the casing. One on inside keyboard panel, one on outside top panel
Battery wont hold a decent charge
Small dark spot on the lower left side of the lcd by the "start" button, barely even visable

I am still in the process of testing the laptop to make sure it is 100% stable, but I have had no problems at all performance wise so far other than it needing more ram. I have no idea why Dell would sell a 1.6ghz P4 XP machine with only 128mb of ram unless the original buyer figured they would upgrade themselves and never did, either way it is an easy fix.

I can not give a warranty with the laptop, but I will guarantee non DOA as long as you contact me with problems within 2 days of receiving it.

$225 shipped and insured

listed locally and is also going on a computer forum later so probably wont last long

if anyone is interested i can upgrade the ram to 320mb for $10 which would help out a lot.

i would have to buy the 256mb stick though so it would take a few days to get it, install it and ship it out

i can also replace the 20gb hard drive with a 60gb hard drive for another $40

I am now going to upgrade the ram for free, so whomever buys it will get 320mb or ram in it as soon as I can get the stick here
