how much power did you have going to them and did you seal the doors if so how good was the midbass and how clear and loud did the highs get
did you have them on passive or active
why are you wanting something else

Try to find some CL-62's with the DRT-25 tweeter and a better xover (I happen to be selling a set of CDT CL-62's with the DRT-25 silk tweeter and upgraded 560i xover...not trying to get you to buy them...just saying that the CL-61 is the bottom of their line of mids).

i too was skeptical but then i bought them and quickly realized what the hype was all about. for $87 take the chance. i bet you will like them. i have mine dialed in reaaaal nice.
but as long as your doors are deadened and sealed and you have a good 150 watts per side you'll be set.

well i carry alot of people with me and in the back they will have 2 12's l7's right inbetween of them so i figued i need some rear fill and i personally like rear fill
because this is how my setup will be its a f150 king ranch with bucket seats so i am taking out the rear console and getting a custom made ported box to fit inplace of the console inbetween the rear seats so it might be necessary for some rear fill
i will prob by 2 sets of comps and not hook up the tweeters for the rear unless its necessary
so would the A pillar be a good spot to mount tweeters

ok.
in trucks, A-pillars on-axis, seems very popular.

axis???
dont laugh but whats that mean
and if i need the extra tweeters for the rear for passangers so they can hear the music as well where would a good spot to mount tweeters in the back so it doesnt mess up the front stage
would behind the back seats be a good spot like in the back rear corner about 1ft from the back seat headrest or should i mount them on the door panels or in the kicks in the rear
this is if i only need them

03-23-2008, 02:28 AM
well what will i need to run active and for my first set of comps should i go active or passive
going active isn't THAT hard but you still have to know certain things. and you'll need either a hu capable of doing it or an external processor to control it. its easier all from the HU.
in a pick-up i think just a nice powerful front stage will be plenty.... even for the peeps in the back seat.

well i like it to besides the lack of space to put a loud system in it its almost impossible especially if you want it to look stock where its not odd looking
only other thing which i plan to do down the road is do a port in the cab from the bed bc i have a tonea cover so i plan on doing 6-8 12's in the bed ported into the cab should be really loud

if u love it enough buy it i will sell it lol
actually i wont never sell this truck its a 01 and only has 70k miles on it not bad at all i dont drive it much and i plan on turning into a show truck with 26's on it since its 2wd and putting around 4.80 gears in it and a supercharger and load it out with the best audio equipment possible including drop down tv's plan on doing a 17 inch drop down which will be huge in that truck
and getting custom made kicks that have are made to match the interior it will be a wood grain finish to it and plan on getting all the seats leather redone and stained back to original color and all new carpet when i deaden the floor so it will be basically brand new
king ranch
03-23-2008, 03:05 AM
the thing is with shallow mounts i dont even have room for shallow mounts without taking out rear console
and no i wont have a different truck i will keep this truck even when i get a new one for what i will get for it for trade in isnt worth it to me to do that when i can turn it into a fast azz nice looking king ranch sitting on 26's and a loud azz system and decked out tvs and interior
this year with a supercharger is one of the faster trucks ford makes look at how slow the new models are even with a s/c

i have the 880prs head unit which is active capable, so my HU is acting as the crossovers. the amp is a 4 channel with staggered outputs. 200x2 AND 100x2.
you would need another 2 channels of amplification, and either a HU capable of controlling it all or an external crossover. i prefer to do it all right from the HU though. much simpler and any setting can be changed right from the drivers seat.
