This is going to be my next local box build.

It will be 4 RE 8" subs.

For under the back seat of a 96 dodge ram 1500.

It is going to be sealed and common chamber, running off of a JL 500/1

Here is the basic design, and some shots of the subs. They are the new model with the new cone, i like them much more than the look of the old ones.

Southern Florida, near Ft. Myers, Naples area. The kid got them cheap, 33 per sub. but they go for ~50 a piece.

They are 175rms per sub, 250 max

Nice design. Is the RE logo supposed to be raised or recessed?

Cool.

Maybe, just maybe, they will handle 2000 W in a 1 sec. burp? All four of them together I mean.

considering the max on all 4 together is 1000watts. i do not think they would like it.

I need a box for under the rear bench of my 97" ram ext cab. Can ya design me one while you have the same truck there to get all the measurements you need?:)

I can raise the seat, just not sure how much I have to raise it. Or if I have to go another route to get enough air space.

lol

under the seat is WAY to small for that :(

The max hight i can go in the front is 10.75"
with a mounting depth of 4-6 inches with a tiny motor.

About how much air space is it short? Can the middle section, where the hump in the middle of the truck is, be brought out towards the center console. Taking up the leg room where the middle person would sit in the back? Would that give it enough?

I don't need an amp rack or anything, I'll put the amps on the back wall. Should save on some space.

he left the seats the factory hight, but due to some motor clearence issues, i had to add a double baffle for the extra depth.

Think we can get the air space I need with a 4" seat raise and using the space where the tranny hump is? where the rear middle passenger would have their leg room, up to the center console?

i still think that you would not have quite enough space. Ill have to re-do the deisgn to find out for sure though.
