Will any MP3 capable head unit play FLAC files if I'm playing them through my MP3 player?
why not convert flac into another file and play that?
Older Kenwoods (06-07) with the Phatnoise media manager and are capable of 4 gig flashdrives.

I have 2400 albums in FLAC and don't really want to convert them.

ural cdd is only one i know. it around 550 to 600 depending on used or new.
Kenwood X590, X689, X790, x890, x990, dpx 701 dpx501 all very nice units. x990 being the fist choice. I believe some of the pioneer and alpines also , but unsure of model.

find any more
No, I didnt acually look. heres one more Alpine iDA-X001, but that is a HU that can accept a hard drive. After a quick look around, Kenwood seems like the best option. Again it needs to be a Kenwood equipt with the PhatNoise software which is used to transfer onto USB. Ive tried the Phatnoise on newer units X891 and it does not rcognize the program. Also I tried it in alpines and pioneers with out luck. So I see it as get a carputer, use a laptop via a usb HU or find an older Kenwood with Phatnoise.
