View Full Version : tlines/chambered tlines.
need someone to help with the latter more. but anyway.
ive been messing around with designing a box for an rd audio alpha v1 12" (basically an atomic ele)

total chamber area is 1.416 and port area is 75"^2 (6"x12.5") and the line length is 90
this roughly gives the line as far as tlines go, a tuning of 37/38
im just having a bit of trouble trying to figure out how this will end up, whether i have the correct chamber volume or what else.
any input would be appreciated

I just finished up my T-box today..... unfortunately I didnt design it though so Im not much help. Ask Pete from PWK designs, he will probably help you out. Yours does look proportionately similar to mine though. Why the side-firing port?

dont have the money to ask pete, ive asked for his input and all he does is explain what a chamber in a tline does, no help with designing them.
what sub do you have? hell, if you could send me one im just trying to figure out the chamber volume vs port area and line length.

only thing he changed was the port is flared in my design, same t-line though.

Martin King's MATH CAD sheets are only $25, FYI, and you can model T-lines, horns, and other quarter wave resonators.

yeah, its been done before, but im just trying to help push up the power handling a bit with still maintaining the idea of a tline.
its jsut trying to find out the chambered portion in relation to port area vs line length
if anyone wants the few i have on my computer, feel free to ask.

What software are you using? King's sheets should model rear loaded and front loaded enclosures with and without chambers.
