Are kick panels used to reposition the front door speakers and be used as the only front speakers? Or are they to be used in addition with door speakers to add more speakers up front?

I just read a thread that says it is to give better staging to the system by directing the speaker angle towards your ears. Also by giving a more aqual distance between the speakers and you so you are less likely to notice a time arrival difference of sound from left and right speakers.

If you want to run a 3 way setup, stick a beefy bass driver in the doors, and stick your mids in kick panels, and your tweeters in the dash and its an aweome way to get great imaging.

Exactly what my setup is . Except my tweeters are in the door sails. You are very correct about the imaging
