I'm not feeling the Double Din DVD players and Navigation bullcrap, just isn't for me.

What I do want is a headunit that'll play MP3's from DVD's and CDR/RW's and such, able to hook up two amps to control my front and rear components, ect...

I have a 2007 Scion tC.

What head units should I look into? I like Pioneer and Alpine, but I don't need bluetooth, DVD playback (video).

Thanks guys

Basic sounds bad though, am I going to lose sound quality over wanting a basic setup? :furious:

Playing MP3s from DVDs without video? Forget it.

Yeah, think about it...a single din that plays DVD's without a screen. You would have to have an external screen. Few manufacturers would make a unit like that. It would be nice though to have the ability to read MP3's off DVDs:D

clarion dxz955mc.. I do believe you can add the cenet controller which will allow you to play dvd's. Its a single din touchscreen. Runs active. I've got one and love it.

why would that be nice? it would be much nicer to have some sort of device made to play MP3's, and your head unit could integrate with this device.

that would be cool. who uses disks anymore?

;) :)

Why not look into an Alpine IDA series unit, which is designed primarily as an Ipod integration unit ?

Or the Alpine 9861 which is a single DIN unit that I believe will play DVD's loaded w/ MP3's.
