I agree, you can get a very nice set of comps that are used for just under 200

The reason why I stated the question that way was because I made a thread over a week ago and not one person was able to give me any components for under $200.
Can anyone name any specific speakers?
I am not to sure about used since there is no way to tell what kind of condition they are in.
btw, my car uses a 5.25 mid speaker.

Crystal SSCS/SSX.
Infinite Car Audio has the SSCS for around 150 or so for the 5" ones, and they are a factory authorized dealer, you get factory warranty on them.

with your speajer size i recommend buying adapter to accomadate 6.5's. i felt like i never got enough midbass out of speakers that size. and i stepped up to 6.5's and i could definately tell the difference and i will not go back. by the way i got rsd's for sale. lol

Is Crystal Mobile Sound still in business? I thought they called it quits around a year ago.

Check out Memphis Car Audio. They have a really good speaker for a reasonable price. I think their top of the line 5.25 componant set is around $200. Check their website www.memphiscaraudio.com to find dealer in your area. Hope this help.

I posted up some comps for under 200 in another thread recently:
http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showpost.php?p=4272840&postcount=5

And I also agree with all the other suggestions given in this thread too

Thanks guys. I will check to see what I would need to do to make those 6.5's to work with an E36 BMW.
Edit: Doesnt look promising
I can't see it being possible at all due to the fact of the required depth of most 6.5's and speaker excursion. Any baffle/adaptor you build would not allow the stock panel to fit flush again, even if it's a 1/4 in thickness. The metal that needs to be cut in order for a 6.5 to fit isn't structual metal, if you dont have access to a air saw or nibbler a good pair if tin snips will do.

RSD's are good comps for UNDER $100.(probably cant be beat?)
I have never personally heard a pair but I tell you those speakers get big hype.
But for under $200.... around the higher 1 range you can find some pretty nice stuff that I have heard.(Well I know I can)

I just bought the RSD's since they seem to have a good rep and I dont think I can go wrong from the price.
