Hello!

I bought clarion speakers and put in the rear (sedan):
http://www.clarion.com/gb/en/products/2007/audio/speaker/SRR1736/gb-en-product-sc_1146412232186.html

Are these OK, compared to other this class products and price? It cost me ~80$.

I connected them to JVC KDS641.

The main question:
can i use amplifier for these speakers (lets say 80W) and get any benefit from it? Will it be safe? Only 40W continuous power.. :(

Thank you for your answers!

Myself, I've always thought the clarion was middle-of-the-line equipment.

Yes they will be fine, as long as you set the gain correctly!

if you do not know how then their is a tutorial on the site. Let me find it and link it for you.

Thanks or the information!
I found a more easier page to read: http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/general-discussion/audio-video-electronics/165526-amplifier-gain-setting-tutorial.html

Hm, when i turn volume higher i hear distortions of low freq. speaker. Car audio player has 45W output and i hear it at 75% players output.

Do i need some king of frequency filter and a sub, or these speakers are not worth investment of amp. and sub and whatever it takes..

Thank you,
ginga.
