The 4.6s are very tough motors. Ive talked to to many people that have been running 100+ shots on these stock motors for years. I will be getting the full custom tune for the nitrous ofcourse, but the engine is the least of my concerns, like i said to make the statements about my engine not being able to handle it without being reguilt is crazy. That shows you dont know much about these motors. :) As for power, my car has plenty of it, the spray is for racing/ drag purposes. My car came stock with true duals, but I did more stuff with them. 2.5inch xpipes, no cats, ect...

I know these motors in and out they are one my favorites as I have two cars with them. My uncle builds these all day long I know what they are capable of. Its good to see you are atleast getting a tune for it, makes me feel a little more comfortable about it.

I wouldnt personally do it, unless maybe I swapped the cam and prefered to run nitrous. Either way to each their own and good luck to you.

Hey tell me about the exhaust^^^ Look at my previous post

that is what i wanted to know....the 2bolt 4.6L is only good to 400hp safely...which is why i said to limit to a 100shot...you should however get the swappable jets so you can play at the strip:D and btw...if you get the 4bolt 4.6L you can do motor build, naturally aspirated, without nitrous and make just under 400!!!

Stock rear end for now. I have not ran it at the strip without nitrous yet, because im not done with the few boltons I have left to put on. The stock rear ends on these cars are pretty solid. I dont intend on spraying off the line though. I have a window switch on the way, so that I wont spray until 3k or more rpms have been reached.

dman4486
02-13-2008, 02:44 PM
you can spray any motor, just have to be careful as to how much...a motor can only handle soo much hp before failure

the backup car is a great idea

was wondering about the ratio, because the vic is a relatively heavy car for strip purposes, and you will benefit more from a shorter rearend IMO

4.6's arent the most torque worthy motors out there, that is the depertment that they lack in, thus gettin up off the line. Also, opening it up with 2.5" pipes doesnt help that much, may raise hp but takes away from the torque you will see. I would personally have ran 2.25, which is what I will do to the cougar I have, with mid-mounted magnaflow that has the built in x-pipe

speedfreak28
02-13-2008, 02:59 PM

thats not too bad, you should see around 100 lb/ft of torque to the wheels with a 100 shot, torque numbers always eclipse hp on the bottle.

No system, components, and a small amp. The car is heavy, but like i mentioned it is pretty impressive once it gets moving. Raced my budies g35 coupe from a slight roll , which him punching the gas before I did, and my front bumper was right against his back bumper. He won, but Very tight race. Dont under estimate it. Yeah, the car really ***** off the line. About a month ago, we crossed into Mississippi to do a little racing, when the local PD showed up. They were cool with it, and just told us to keep it safe and be courteous to other drivers. Then before they left, one of em asked if anyone wanted to race the interceptor... everyone was all silent, so I just got in my car (mostly stock at the time), and lined up. Off the line my car got maybe 2-3 lengths on him, but around 80mph he started eating that gap pretty fast. Was kinda neat to see what my car does against an interceptor.
