Well i just blew the tweets in my car i had the rainbow slc 6.5 i asked how much tweets were and they said 120 for a set. That seems a lil high being i spent 220 for the whole set. is it worth buy them or should i get a whole new componet set im only looking to spend around 200 if needed. What componets are comparable to the rainbows?

I would think it's hard to find a 200 dollars comp set that will be comparable to the rainbows. Unless you go active with some good raw drivers ;)

if you're just gonna pick up a different pair then it might be a good idea to find out what the original tweets were crossed at so it can match better

If I were you, I would a) figure out why the originals blew in the first place, and b) keep the original Rainbow midbasses as there's nothing wrong with them, and run active with new tweets...

MA audio and Pioneer to replace Rainbow? Come on now.

Running active just means you use four channels of amplification(two for the tweets, two for the mids) and actively tune the xover frequencies using an external crossover. Personally, i'd go with that option.

And if you were to get a new comp. set, how much for the rainbow mids? :D

$120 retail price for tweeters is not out of line. I would stick with the same tweeters... most of your better comp sets have crossovers optimized for the drivers they come with... if you switch tweeter brands, might sound okay... but the set might not sound it's best.

Pioneer revs are great for the price.

have you heard the revs? they are really cheap you can get the whole componet set for 110 and then shiping is 15 dollars is it worth it to switch brands?

dspencer, This Seas Neo tweeter [http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=149&products_id=633] seems to be a hit with ppl over at DIYMA and it costs the same as the ones you linked. Looks like the difference is one is textile and the other is aluminum.

The Pioneer PRS 720 mids will sound better than those slc's but the tweeters fall a little short.

Maybe buy some good tweets and run active.;)
