I was thinking about trading my Tacoma in on a Honda Ridgeline...Does anyone have any experience with them? They are pretty sharp looking rides....sorta like an Avalanche.....I figure it will give me a better quality ride being a Honda.....

my neighbor has one and has an issue w/ the under-bed storage filling w/ water...however it does ride nice

They're certainly nice...

But I wasn't a fan of my neighbors. His rode kinda rough from the factory, and was even worse after some 22's.

I don't know if they are 6 lug or 5 lug...so I'm not sure if my 20's off my Tacoma will fit on it or not

It will be 2 years old in March and already has 12,000 miles on it...Its time to get something new

we test drove one and it was fine. I don't like them. They look kinda cool, with bigger tires and a slight lift it would look like a desert trophy truck.
I think you should either get a car or get a truck but not try to get both.

Why not just get an Escalade EXT?

Why not just get an Escalade EXT?

i'm just mainly getting something to occasionally pull my 4 wheeler to trail rides or pick up something to large for a car in.....so i'm needing something cheap like my tacoma...i'm trying to get something around 30,000

Oh my god, 12,000 miles. Most people put more than that on in one year. Why the hell would you need to get something else when the Tacoma is that new?

You can find EXT's in your price range if you look around. And it will do everything you're wanting and more comfortably.

If you need something that you're 'occasionally' using, then why not keep the Tacoma?

You're not exactly bright, are you?

i may have to get something a little bigger actually...i need something that can pull my bulldozier....i may get a new Tundra but i don't really like the looks of them....

It goes from occasionally pulling a four wheeler and picking up stuff slightly larger than a car can handle to towing a bulldozer lol. I hope this thing is smaller than a D3 if you wanna pull it around with a pickup truck. 2 years and 12,000 miles isn't even broken in yet nevermind ready to be traded in. Personally I am not a fan of the Ridgelines, all they are is cars with a open bed, don't even have a full frame unless they have revised them lately.

I'd say if you like that look at least get an avalanche, you could even find an HD avalanche and tow your bulldozer with that. Kinda hard to find ride quality and utility in the same package unless you get some custom air ride suspension. Then again I wouldn't trade the ride of my F350 for anything, its just perfect lol.

i'de say get the new half ton silverado. Or if you wanna keep the style of the ridgeline, as least go avalanche. I think ridgelines are hideous

Cool, should be able to handle that with a half ton truck then. Main trouble nowadays most trucks got the motor to move the weight its the brakes that aren't up to snuff. Personally I would say go for a new Tundra (can't believe I recommended that being a die hard domestic guy lol) They seem to be doing pretty good though, maybe its just their propaganda with cool commercials lol.

Also reminded me of a project one of my dads friends did...

http://www.ihcubcadet.com/BobsPage/Crawler.jpg

Cub Cadet garden tractor and the guy completely machined the track assemble and the pads and everything to convert it from a standard wheel driven tractor to a crawler.

Yeah I mainly bought the Bull Dozer to play around the house with...but you know once people know you have a bull dozer they start wanting you to do things for them....My Tacoma has the heavy duty towing package....I'm not sure if the brakes are beefed up or not.....I bought a big triple axel trailer to put my bulldozer on but I'm not sure if my truck will pull it...that thing is pretty massive

which happens to not have a useless bed on the back...and doesn't look anything like the ridgeline

edit: forgot to mention that i also get almost 30mpg on the highway

Half the point of a tow package is the trailer brake. You can tow more than a truck is rated at with some strain but stopping is another story without trailer brakes. If you need a bigger truck then look into that but getting rid of a mid size for another mid size when you only have 12,000 miles on it is just retarded. Your the kind of people the dealers love.

Honestly, yo ucould do what I"m about to do.

2008 Dodge Ram Megacab Diesel...if you dont mind going with a Dodge

Foot out of it, you'll get better than 18mpg out of the diesel, you'll have the ability to put trailer brakes on the truck and pull two of your tractors, and if you choose to go Megacab, have the room for your substage if you want it.

Also, they dont break in for about 15 years worth of your driving... ;)

A 1500 will pull that tractor, just carefully. I like having some more weight, power, and bigger brakes if I'm going to pull 3 axle trailer

If your towing quads and bulldowzers get a truck, if you want to cruise in comfort go buy your grandpa's caddy or Lincoln.

are you like ****in a.d.d with cars or something? seriously if you have a 2 year old tundra with 12k miles and you think you need a new truck, thats just sad. If you really are worried about your brakes, lose the rims, and get some bigger rotors and calipers / pads.

BTW before you think about it, 4x4 trucks with rims look retarded.

4x4 Megacab, folding towing mirrors

Cloth interior no power seats

6spd is 36900 and the auto is like 38500

If you check out Egay, you can find a Megacab Laramie with no miles or sometimes even new for like 43 ish...

I've never driven the Ridgeline before...but my Tacoma has some good get up and go....It has the 4.0 V6 ...I haven't done much too it but add A K&N intake system and a stainless steel Borla exhaust system....They finally came out with a Supercharger for the Tacoma 4.0 V6 ....if I kept it I'd probally add it...but the 5.3 Hummer with a supercharger would be Sweet :D

Paint it. And how much did that Tacoma run you? I'm thinking of picking up an '04 or '05 (Whichever year the new one came out in and won the MotorTrend TOTY).

I need something that gets around nicely in the winter. My RWD s10 just ain't cuttin' it.

I paid $30,000 cash for the Tacoma...then I added another $10,000 in custom stuff.....I had to dig deep in my cookie jar to get it....the new ones came out in 05...I waited for the 06 so they get the bugs kinked out....
