It's pretty much just a slightly updated dxz775usb.

Once they incorporate the 3 way xover into a double din dvd HU, I'll be all over it.

I dunno what you guys are missing here, clarions had a unit that can do that for a couple of years now.

http://www.clarion.com/us/en/MungoBlobs/862/330/DXZ785USB-US_01.jpg Could look alot worse.

I give it a nod for a lot of features packed in, but it still looks cheap and bulky to me. Nice HU though, with that much goin for it, may have to give it a second look.

Im going to have to say that I'm not a big fan of the style. It looks rediculously big. But the features seem impressive.

clarion is making a comeback. when i got my cd player(in sig) about 4 years ago that was at the end wave of the good units now they seem to be coming back.

they used to be good **** back in the day

Used to be? Please explain.....they've always had top notch performance...that's never changed, they did get very ugly of which it appears that they are trying to correct but the performance has always remained top quality.......

clarion is making a comeback

again please explain this statement.......they never went away and there products and quailty never went down.......

Just curious as to the thoughts behind these two statements......:D:D:D

Look at nakamichi, they are ugly too. Still great HU. It really shouldn't be about looks you **** girls :P

Quality is there and the sound is there, then who cares. I love my clarion. Ugly looks and all ;)

if you say looks doesn't matter, you must be one ugly beast, or at least ur dating one.

That's a fugly HU :fyi:

How is this "stepping up" for them when the DRZ is a better deck anyway?

dragnix
01-10-2008, 12:50 PM
perhaps stepping up in terms of entry level units ;)

nismos14
01-10-2008, 12:52 PM
It's there top of the line HU, the DRZ doesn't count its been out for years.

My point was that since the DRZ looks better spec-wise than that one anyway, and it's been around for a lot longer, I don't see where the "stepping up" part of it comes in.

Give me a 4-way crossover built into the deck any day over that :)

Looks better cosmetically, too...

still, whoever said looks don't matter is either a liar or is ugly himself :fyi: Looks matter in everything you do. From your car to your house to your clothes, if it looks bad, why have it? Unless ur broke as hell and have no choice, then i understand.

Boy what this superficial world has come to. :crap:

FYI, this HU can be used to bandpass on the low and mid and high pass on the tweet. This works pretty well to incorporate a proper 3 way active front stage, with no sub, or a ported sub setup.

ALSO worth noting, the outputs of the deck itself can be used to power mids and tweets actively. There is NO other deck on the market that can do that.

no, but i still have to look at the **** thing every day

In high school I never cared what anyone thought. I wore whatever I wanted and, as far as work goes I only wear what work requires. I don't care how it looks.

My Alti is just a car, if it looks good to me cool. I'm not worried what about what anyone else thinks it looks like, and :fyi: I would have been perfectly happy with a civic which I think is ugly..

Your an idiot, plain and simple.

So your saying that if you could have the best reproduction of sound possible, but it looked unattractive, you would take a better looking unit that sounds worse?

To correct you as well, looks matter to YOU. It has nothing to do with my appearance, or my significant others. It actually has to do with what I am measuring. In this instance we are talking about quality of product and sound. I want the best sound I can get, I don't need blinking lights to keep me occupied.
