what are what? and another question i have the wireing kit i got was http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_3938_Kicker+CK4.html and i got my system installed at a audio place but my question is this kit came with rca cables and my headunit the deh-1800 didnt have rca jacks so they either got some kinda adapter or cut the rcas off of the wiring and spliced it in or something or they used a adaptor.. so my question is if i want my subs to work when i get this headunit do i need to buy new rcas wireing or can i still use the one i got with the amp kit and how would i still be able to use it? thanks

they put in a line out converter and once you get your new head unit put in, the loc goes away and you can still use the same rca cable

so they didnt cut the rca connectors off of the side that goes to my headunit so there still there to where i can just plug them into the back of the new headunit? can you explain to me how i would do it or what i need to do? thanks so i dont need to buy new ones?

that is a LOC and as you can see the rca cables would plug into that then the wires would be attached to the old head unit. Once your new head unit gets installed you wont need it any more so you they will just unplug it and plug the same rca cable into your new hu.

oh ok so then theres no way they could of hooked it up if they didnt use one of those? and this new headunit is newer and better technology does that mean ill get better bass and sound quality with it cuz it has sub outputs and sub level controls and a 7band equalizer which my unit dont have... and im sorry i keeping asking about the rca cables i was just afraid they might of cut off the connector jacks to the headunit completly off and somehow hooked it up.... so i guess without that adapter sinse it will be straight rca to rca jack it will sound better to right?

I would hope they didn't cut the ends of the rca cable off  but I wouldn't put it past some shops as some of those guys are nothing but crooks, but most likely they used a LOC like pictured above. For as it sounds, I think it would sound a lot better, I went from an old JVC deck to a pioneer 7500mp and it sounds a lot better. I would imagine it would sound a lot better but I don't know enough about head units to know why.

so then there is a possibility that they did cut the ends off though??? cuz if they did would that mean i would have to buy new rca cables? cuz that would really **** me off if they did cut the ends off...

Bloodstalker999

well there is always that possibility if you don't know exactly what they did  but if they have even a slightly working brain they would have just used a loc.

If you're concerned about sound quality, I'd work on getting an amplifier on those speakers...and losing the 6x9's...and sound deadening thoroughly...and well I could continue :p:

why should i lose the 6x9's they sound great 6x9's is all my car can hold beside 3 and a half inch dash speakers....

Bloodstalker999

you can get an adapter and get a set of 6.5" components, but it sounds like your happy with the 6x9s

why u saying 6 and a half inch speakers sound better than 6x9's? but i just wanna know if they did cut the rca plugs off then how do i hook it up to the headunit so where it sounds just as good as if i had them??

Have you ever heard a properly-set up front stage with no rears being used at all?

 dude your tripping about them cutting off the ends of the rca cables, if they did you will just have to replace them with a few flux capisators.

no i havnt heard that before... so are you saying my 6x9's make my system sound distorted cuz there will be to much bass? because i just ordered those kicker 3 and a half inch speakers cuz my old power acostics are blown and when i had all 4 speakers it sounded really good... but i dont know as much about systems as you guys i mean does the speakers i have said and stuff i got sound like a good system i have my subs bridged also to my amp..

If I were you I would work on figuring out how you keep blowing speakers

Alsandair
01-07-2008, 01:24 AM
well i have only blown that one pair of speakers those power acostic 3 and a half inches but those were only entry level speakers these kickers i have coming are really good speakers and durable.... so i dont think they will blow.... but how would i hook my rca wires to my headunit if they did cut the rca plugs off? i really need to know that cuz im gonna order all of the stuff i need tommorow for it so thats why i need to know tonight.... thanks and i forgot i also got dynamat wedge kit for my trunk cuz i have a good amount of rattling on the outside of my car when my subs play... that will also make my ssound better wont it?

lol sorry about trippin on that but it just worries me lol.... how much does those connectors cost and if i did get those would it not soud as good if i had the orgial rca plugs?

Bloodstalker999

If they cut the rcas the whole cord will need to be replaced, there is a way to put ends on them but its not cost effective seeing as a new rca cable costs probably as much as the kit to replace the ends would.

9.9 should be enough for a coupe i would think. i would run it from the speakers under the carpet to the HU and connect it there. a new pair pair or RCAs dont cost a **** thang, so dont patch the ones you have right now, not worth it...

Alsandair

ok well i called the guys who installed my system and i asked them if they cut the rca wires when the hook a system up with no rca jacks and he said no we used a line output input adaptor or something like that thank god..... so im just gonna order the headunit not the rca wires to
