i am trying to fit either 2 12's l7's or 1 15 or 2 15's l7s
in the space i have for a box in my truck
it will be inplace of my rear console in my truck and i have about 26 long 17.5wide and 25 deep subs would be facing the roofand if needed to get 2 15's if there is still even enough air i can go 26 deep 17.5wide and 35 high subs would be facing towards the front of the truck

whats possible with the dimensions would like to go ported unless sealed is a must

You have made this thread about 5 times now. I made you a design the first time and offered to build it for you.

well send me the design again bc i got told it wasnt enough air for each sub

2 15's ain't gonna happen unless sealed.... 2 12's or 1 15, maybe, but only with the 2nd list of dims you listed. Pair of 12's will not work with the 1st set of dims

This was designed a while ago so I will have to try and find all the details on it.

ionsql the person right above said 2 12's wont fit in that
whats the tune on that box and whats the airspace per sub after port and sub displacement

also if ii got with 2 15's sealed vs 2 12's ported which will be louder and by how much

BreakDaLaw
01-07-2008, 12:19 AM
If it was me I'd do 1 good 15...but then again what do i know i only have a cheap DD 9515 :(

king ranch
01-07-2008, 12:21 AM
dont mean to sound dumb but whats a dd 9515
is that what you have
so i should just do a single 15 ported

BreakDaLaw
01-07-2008, 12:23 AM
some woofer i bought at a flea market :-P but yeah id get a 15 port it...

king ranch
01-07-2008, 12:25 AM
whats the sub u have honestly
and will that single 15 be louder than 2 12's
and what 15 should i go with i have about a 400 dollar budget for sub
and what numbers can i put up with a 15

btdickey99

Which flea market bc I would really like 1 of those.

it's around 3.7ft^3 @ 32Hz

btdickey99
01-07-2008, 12:29 AM
stop asking what numbers you can put up with a 15!!!!

I would go with a btl or 9512, you can get either used for under $400

king ranch

3.7 for both subs there is no way thats enough air space to be loud

BreakDaLaw
01-07-2008, 12:29 AM
hmmm to many possible answers for that...i do have a DD 9515 which is a 15. Maybe try a Fi Bl or DD 3515...

BreakDaLaw

i got mine from Lousiana_CRX he has a hell of a flea market lol....$450 shipped with carbon fiber dustcap hell of a deal ;-)

kicker calls for anywhere from 3.5-6.5 for the two 12" L7s

how do you like yours and how much power do u have going to it
also how loud is it

king ranch
01-07-2008, 12:34 AM
kicker calls for anywhere from 3.5-6.5 for the two 12" L7s

and yes thats barely enough airspace
i highly doubt it will be that loud i could prob get louder with a single 15

BreakDaLaw
01-07-2008, 12:34 AM
3.5 a woofer ;-) after port and displacment

BreakDaLaw
01-07-2008, 12:36 AM
umm right now im only going to push it at 750 RMS....but it will take way more then that...it get pretty loud off the little kicker but hell it will take much more power then that.

2 12's ported > one 15 ported and 2 15's sealed

BuckyBoy
01-07-2008, 12:40 AM
Using 35x17.5x26 you could get around 7.1-7.3 ft^3 if you use an aero port.

Generaly I have found Smaller box= More SPL. Smaller boxes tend to like the mic better in my car but are very peaky. Larger box= better sounding daily boxes but dont like the mic as much.

well put it this way if 2 12's ported will be louder then thats what i want
and 35 is my absoulte highest because at that height i can barley use my rearview mirror would like to stay 30 or under unless 35 is a have to

and whats the diff in aero and normal ports

BreakDaLaw
01-07-2008, 12:45 AM
you can barely see your rearview mirror??? what is this going in...

as far as i know, it is personal preference. i havent seen anything that states one is better than the other. in tight situations, people use aero ports to save some space.

using 30, you can get around 6ft^3 or a little more

BUMPING150S
01-07-2008, 12:49 AM
aeros will save u space but cost u a bit more. They will also reduce port noise.

king ranch
01-07-2008, 12:50 AM
it will be going in between my back seats in my f150 king ranch i have bucket seats with consoles and the back console i plan on taking out thats why i only have the amount of room i have

there is no room behind seat or underseat thats the only place possible
any ideas

and on the aero vs normal port is one louder and sound different than the other

BuckyBoy
01-07-2008, 12:52 AM
you seem to be asking the will it be louder question alot.
two 12" l7s in a tuned ported box are going to be loud, you dont have to worry about that.

king ranch
01-07-2008, 12:55 AM
ok and yea thats what i am going for is loud

so whats possible with the space i have
as in box dimensions and aero or normal port let me kno so i can measure in my truck to make sure it will work

what will each sub get after displacement for everything and what tune
and also could u draw this up for me and where will the aeros be at coming out of the box??
and how much for this capreted

each sub will get around 3-3.25ft^3. i will have more precise measurements once i design it.
you can choose what you want the tuning. i was going to do either 32or33, but its up to you.
idk which way you would want the ports to fire. they can either be on the front back left of right.
i can get your a price quote after we get all the little details worked out.
for now, i will make a design and put it into a sketch for you.
let me know what tuning and where you want the ports firing.

king ranch
01-07-2008, 01:05 AM
the only other option i have is to forget bout putting subs in the cab i could cut a port through my bed into the bed considering i have a tonea topper on my truck and i could load the bed with 4 15's or w/e i can fit back there
but cutting through my bed and cab one going to be problem prob down the road and 2 will be very pricey i bet

king ranch
01-07-2008, 01:06 AM
ok subs will need to be facing towards the roof i suppose unless i should have the subs facing towards the windshiled and the aeroports facing the roof w/e will be the loudest and tuning the same for that what ever is the loudest

That volume takes into account some bracing as well. Including a double baffle.
Whatcha think?

I hope he likes it so you can start

Then we dont have to deal with the "will this or this be louder" questions

and GL with the build buckyboy, i will assume that you will post pics:D

me and king have already been through this one time a while back. like you said tho, hopefully i can build this one for him.

btdickey99

lol yea...i mean that seems like his only option for the space he has

king ranch
01-07-2008, 01:48 AM
not meaning to sound dumb but whats a double baffle
and also whats the price looking to be for this build

and one more thing i forgot to mention towards the back of the box there has to be a 2-3 inch cut it it bc there is a little hump in the floor when i remove the console i will take pics and get the exact spot it is
and if u can shoot the design in my messages so i have it for later once i get the subs and amp so i can make sure i am able to get u to build it for me

thanks

BuckyBoy
01-07-2008, 02:08 AM
double baffle means that whichever board the subs are mounted to is double up. so instead of 3/4" of support, you have 1 1/2".
im glad you tell me about the little hump now haha. no big deal we will figure somethin out.

kingranch, let this guy build a box for you since he's gone through all this trouble. May I ask how much power you're going to have on hand and do you plan to do any electrical upgrades?

king ranch
01-07-2008, 06:51 PM
i plan on hooking up a 1500.1 kicker amp to them
and also will have a 650.4 amp for the door speakers
and i have a brand new biggest battery possible made for my truck has over 1000amps
so i should be alright if not i can do the big 3

BUMPING150S
01-07-2008, 06:54 PM
Just have him build the box and then talk about all the stuff your gonna do later.

so before you try telling someone to do to look all bad online go read b4 u speak

i thought i described it better than that its a 5inch rise over a 14 inch period as in its a gradual slope dont worry bout it i will take pics so its easier for you to see what i mean

also i want the most airspace possible to so if its not 35 inches tall plz make it 35 inches tall
what would the airspace be then

I'm done making designs for you. When you figure out what you want, then send me a PM. You tend to leave out details until after the design has been made. Or you just completely change something after the design. Let me know when you have your mind made up.

I don't blame you. I'd do the same unless he gives you a deposit.

If your so worried about airspace issues, do a blow-thru.
I have done several of them. And you keep the metal you take out, tack it back in and your good to go if you need the hole filled up.

Don't ask for pics, don't have any on this computer...sorry.

Wow, I was going to offer to design and build you an enclosure and even deliver it for a small price but after reading all this bullshit, I have decided not to even off it. You sound like the worst customer ever.
