My Cutlass probably isn't what you'd consider a typical muscle car, but it's a full framed RWD V8 car. It's getting 3.73's and a posi slapped in soon along with frame/body bracing. shift kit sooner or later, then eventually a 383

as of now it's a 1980 5L/th350 car. 138,XXXkms (85kMiles) zero rust. Basically is the same as the G bodies.

I just bought a 1991 Firebird for a fixer-upper.

All stock, some parts need to be replaced. Right now its a 305 v8 LO3, TBI.
This spring Im dropping a 383 stroker with a T400 trans, gutting the interior, full roll cage, 3.96 locked posi rear, and seeing what she does in the 1/4 mile.
I bought it from my friends nieghbor for $200.

Indeed a sleeper has a 10 point cage, the drivetrain is from an 87 grand national and has quite a bit of work done to it, car runs flat 11s in the 1/4 on street tires.;)

well, it looks a tiny bit different right now...Have pulled the runners, intake, and plenum off, bought new eldebrock high flow runners and intake, sent those with plenum to redman racing, had all port matched, then sent to street and performance for chrome work (**** high dollar ****), just installed the Holley comander950 engine management, upped to 42lb injectors. Still trying to get tuned now. Guessing maybe 550...

Sorry no pictures, camera is broke.

I've got a 72 Chevelle SS, it's a clone but I really don't care. Right now I'm doing a frame off resto on it. Need floors and the shell is solid again. Still need to get basically the whole front end. Hood, fenders, all that. Dad bought it for me when I was 13. Had a bent frame so we tracked down a new one. Got a mildly built 454 and a 4 speed to throw in it. Should be a nice car once I finish it.

Dad has a 69 z\28, all original he is in the middle of restoring. Need a little paint, and some interior work and it's good to go. I've drove it a few times and absolutely love it. Uncle has the same car too, just without the Deluxe interior and it's a different color.

i can spend a very pretty penny on a new car next year and would love to hear opinions.

Im thinking a restored 70 - 72 chevelle 454 or a 67 - 69 camaro restored.

It may and I mean MAY be a little quicker but look at this way, first of your runing what is so special about the GNs second you're throwing of the weight balane and adding a fair amount more weight. Not to mention the LC2 motor will get way better fuel economy and has a ton of potential.

I see why it made the power it does, Those are killer heads. Were looking into a set instead of our current dart pro 1's. We run a 622 Dart block / good components and it made 988 hp @ 6700 rpm. But thats also 14.5 /1 compression and 116 gas.

We race a drag boat. If i remember right your located up north by chicago where we race weekly @ blarneys island. (http://www.blarneyisland.com/boat-races.php). We also follow a circuit around the country. As or now, the boat will run 9.0's on motor in the 1/4. It was built for spray and can run 8.50's with a 200 shot. In order to run 8.0's we would really have to spray it and run the risk of breaking parts, when this type of boat quits at 130+ it does not sit down nicely. My dad would get wet to say the least.

My uncle has been to Da grove often. He has i 69 blue chevelle w/ 468 /t-400 etc. That ran mid 9's all day. There is a picture of it on the lemon headers website. He sold it and it now the buyer put a blown chevy in it. God do i miss that car.

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f339/dja4260/warner.jpg

We also race against a friend that has a big inch motor with the nasty 12 degree heads. I believe he said it made 1250+ on race gas. He has money though. This boat runs a 2 speed trans and is capable of a 7.50 in the 14.

Picture of my Dad's 1963 Plymouth Belvedere. It used to have a 440 and then he found a 400 for cheap when one of his 440's had a problem. It now has a 400 that is basically stock other than headers, cam, intake.....

It is an 8th Mile Bracket Racer and still has stock trunk lid...etc. So it is still pretty heavy.

He is thinking about building up the 400 to a 451 or one of his 440's to around 490cubes.

He is currently the Points Leader in super pro class at the small track he goes to in Southern IL. There are a couple pics of his car on the front page.

any interior shots?

I was not done with the interior when it got parked......the front was done including dash, seats and carpeting, and the rear seat just needed covering. Someone broke into it and bent the hell out of my dash trying to steal the radio which I had bolted in where the vents used to be with 3/8 grade 5. needless to say the radio was broken to a million pieces and the dash is bent in directions I didn't know were possible. I will be pulling it back out and hammering it straight when I graduate and get some money to fix it back up.

dman4486

I pulled the power steering and A/C off of it the day I got it and opted for one belt with no mech fan. it now runs a pair of 15.5 amp fans on a 3 core racing radiator. 670 holley with mid rise intake and a comp cam and high rate valve springs(needed after the rocker bolts pulled out of the head:crap: ). she runs in the mid to lower 8's in the 1/8th on a 4.11 rear and c4 3 speed with 1800 stall converter depending on how much traction I can get the length of the track on street 235's.

I think the later V6's had closer too 200hp...add a small supercharger and get gains of close to 300hp....hooked up with a custom set of duals....quality cold air intake..larger throttle body...ect were talking 350 +hp...not to shabby for a V6...people once laughed at the 3.8 v6 in the Grand Nationals :fyi:

well, more like 23 year old stock 700r4 will do that

It's not even really a hard jolt when it hits either, its kinda sneaky :sneaky: What you see in Vin Diesel movies is such bullshit.

Heres 2 of the 5 mustangs I've owned.

1986 mustang gt, t-tops, 5.0, 5 speed. Had a 87 engine (about 15hp more than the 86), ported heads, 87 ecu, mac headers, mac o/r h-pipe, flowmaster 40 series, pony rims, saleen spoiler. I bought it as a roller and put it back together...
