Sorry for not having any in-progress pics, it was way to **** cold out to worry about them.
But, here is my first box. It is 4.5^3FT tuned to 34Hz. 50sq. in. of port. Let me know whats you think.
BTW, it's going to be covered in bedliner.

50 square inches of port might be a little low, but it may not be noticeable.
You should put some kinda sealant in there, it looks like you have a place in the 4th picture where some air could get through.
Nice build tho. Good clean box.

Well, I heard 50sq. in. would be sufficient, but I guess I could have heard wrong. I should have noted in my first pos that it is not 100% done, and that I still need to add some sealer. Install pics will have to wait until I can afford my amp.
Thanks for the comments.

What do you guys recommend for a good sealant? I have heard silicone, but want to double check.

go to wal mart/lowes/home depot and pick up GE 100% Silicone II Sealant. you can use the kitchen and bath, or the door and window version. same **** really.

just make sure you pick up the II version and not the I. im sure the I will work, but on the back they have a 1-10 rating for adhesion and the I gets a 7 for wood, while the II gets a 10.

Nope... just follow the guidelines for your cuts, and have a good idea of what you what to do before you go chopping away at a sheet of MDF.

most likely yes he did but for your box make sure you have two sheets, when i built my 8 cube box for my ssd i used 1 1/2 sheets.

I used a full sheet, and like a 15.5" x 13.25" section off the other. :emb:

Well, he install didn't happen this weekend, I'm having some trouble figuring out where to run my power wire, and ran out of time(and daylight) to do it. Plus I still need to seal up my box.
So, here are some pics of a test fitting of my box, to get an idea of the room I have for everything.

And here is my bare trunk, waiting to be filled with audio goodness again.

HOPEFULLY, I will have this all in by the end of the week. I will be sure to get some pics. I am going to keep the box bare for now, and then bedline it once the weather gets warmer.

It's in. Wiring needs to be cleaned up a little in the trunk, and I need to decide what I am going to cover the box with. But besides that it sounds GREAT. Hits the lows like I wanted it to, and doesn't do too shabby on the higher frequencies.
One question though.... besides bolts/ L brackets... how else can I secure my box and keeping from sliding all to hell and back?

Anyone know any not slip material I could put on the bottom of my box to keep it from sliding around?

I know it won't work that that well, but buy a lot of heavy heavy duty velco and go at it.
