What are the demensions of the sheets? I believe there is a full and half sheet. Does anyone know how big they are, i am trying to see if i can only buy 1/2 sheet to save space and money. I dont have a truck so i would have to borrow one to go get a sheet of wood.

and then the wood is cheaper? I need a 30"x36" sheet and i will have a little extra. didnt want to buy a full sheet because they are really big like 9'x12' or something.

No you still get whole sheet but then you can take it home yourself.

A full sheet it 4'1"x8'1". You'll probably have to get them to cut it for you. A sheet ischeap enough and you'll find a use for the rest of it at some point.

At the Home Depots around here they have quarter sheets of MDF (2'x4'). The 3/4" 1/4 sheet is like $9.50, and a full 49"x97" is $22 and some change.

Just buy the whole sheet. Never hurts to have scrap pieces of MDF around to make rings out of.

Yeah its only $22.91 here for a 49"x97" sheet. I've bought so much I can remember the price. Get the whole thing for sure. There is always a use for the extra.

I went to the depot and got every cut I needed for the box. I wish I had a panel saw. It was free. All of it. Just buy the dude lunch and your golden man!

x2 and our home depot actually has what looks to be 1/3 sheets, not 1/2 sheets...

i had them cut three sheets into 2'x 4' pieces so i could haul it in my blazer. i wound up with so much waste it would have been better to borrow a dealer tag from work for my truck

Same here. For both Lowes and HD, though.

I bought several full sheets early this year, and they were $25/ea at the time. I believe a full sheet has gone up to ~$30 since then, at least around here.

MDF dust is killer, though. The stuff is made with formaldehyde. Also, dust particles made when routing or sawing MDF get really, really small. As in, not even visible to the human eye when airborne. Both of those things are really toxic w/ long term exposure, of course. I wouldn't work with it if there was not adequate dust collection, but I work outside so I don't need much.
