I saw that on their site, what exactly does it do differently than their previous models?

They now incorporate the infamous CAL25 tweet, biampable, tweeter and mid attentuation, bit more flexibility on the crossover (think Germanium), obvious cosmetic differences..

Ye, the CAL 25 is the biggest difference I would assume. I still love my SLC 265 Kicks, no need to replace them yet :)

Wow, those look nice! I especially like the new design of the tweeters.

Are these new CAL25's titanium, aluminum, or silk?

CAL25 Silk.

CAL25 Silk.

Got it.

So no more CMX line with the CAL25 titan tweet, huh? What's the next component set in line up above these new SLC's? Are there any pics available of the other lines?

SAC265.25 will eventually phase out the CMX.

So what is the next step up from my SLC 265 Kicks, their lines have become really confusing since July when I last looked.

Cool. Those options remind me of the Germanium x-over's. I wish my Power Line CS's had 4 levels of tweeter attenuation :(

Just installed a set in a 00 Civic. The tweeters are definitely better. Definitely.

filtor, can you elaborate on 'better'?

More detailed, more dynamic, more crisp?

I had the Contour line in before I got the Powerline CS's. This is basically what the SLC has morphed into with the exception of a nicer basket and a few other subtle differences on the midbass and a huge upgrade on the tweeter. These compared to my set of Contours. As I didn't get a ton of time to test and tune, the client picked up his car the night it was playing, I didn't get to sit and play to give you a full review at this time. IMO, the cal25 is tonally very different than the old SLC tweeter. It is warmer as well as more detailed. They do handle a bit more power and get noticably louder. Over all if you, or anyone was looking to upgrade in and around this pricerange, will be very happy with the set. I am thinking about doing 2 sets in the F150 if funds come around.
