Hello i will be attempting my FIRST ported box this weekend, I just seen that you do box designs. I have a 15" TC-2000 that I cant find specs on, I have no clue about tuning at all. Like if it is tuned to 35hrts will inot hear anything under that? What is the tuning thing?
Sorry for the noob questions, If this helps here is a little more information on this, I have a MTX1501d pushing it @ 2 ohms, I listen to mostly rap music, for mids and highs I have 2 sets of Diamond audio D6 in the front door, so keeping up woth the bass wont be that hard. I have a 2005 Chevy Malibu, seats don't fold down. Im looking for something loud, I dont care if I can hit high numbers but I want it to be loud. Right now it is in a 3.0 SQft Sealed box and it can shake the **** outa the car but I still want louder.

Thanks for all of the help

Hey thanks for the help...but I can hardly see the numbers, and another thing I was hoping to was be able to put a plexi window on the back side of the box so I can see inside from my trunk, I'm having the subs fire into the car, 2002 Grand Am GT, and it looks like the port might be wrapped around to the back, if it is can it be made so I can have the window in it?

Reg Ported box 4.42^3 real @32hz

Very nice!

I'll probably do that Reg Ported box first. That box might be kinda to big, discplacement of the fi q 15" is .19.

This came from ficaraudio.com site....

"Q 15 – We recommend using a sealed box in the neighborhood of 2-2.6 cubic feet of volume (after all displacements for those wondering).

Ported box we recommend using 2.8-4 cubic feet @ 28-33Hz. Again use 12-16 square inches of vent area per cubic foot of volume."

You forgot to show, how long the slot ports are?

This will be for a Tacoma 05 Access Cab, im debating if i should have the port upwards or forward...

Thanks!

i believe it's google's sketchup. i've been trying to use it for a while and i don't know how to add thickness to the boxes i make on it. nor do shadowing or anything. hey rcnshoe would you mind giving me some help on how you come out with your boxes on sketchup?

I learn pretty quick with all computer related things. Figured how to use the program by reading there forum and messing around with the program. I use http://www.carstereo.com/ (http://www.carstereo.com/help2/Articles.cfm?id=31) To help figure out the ports.

All the sides are measured in 3/4 MDF 34" is the width =)

I always add the 3/4 measurements into the box design or 1" or 1/2" Depends on the person but i always do 3/4 unless the customer wants something different.

thanks alot for your help do appreciate it, i forgot to let you know that i will be
inverting the subs, that would changes the chambers volume, if its not to much to
ask can you redo the skitch, you could cut down on the deepth since the subs volume would be out of the count.
again thank you for your effort and help

The box ^3 is without sub displacement. So it wouldn't matter if you inverted the subs. But if you want i can re do the box.

one 12" Alpine type R in a single cab ford ranger.. there isnt much room. The sub magnet has to stick out backwards through the middle of the 2 seats. The front board has to be flush with the angle of the seats.( You have 10" on the bottom and 4" on the top) Im not sure if that makes sense?

Height 23"
Bottom width 10"
top width 4"
Length 53"

Just seeing if you could design one for me for a 9510g. DD recommends around 1.25-1.5 ported to 40hz so i would go with that. Tallest the box could be is 14 inches just to be on the safe side and 36 inches wide and 16 back to play with probably. Port and sub firing back.

Any donation is good! Whatever you think some of the 3d designs take about 30mins to 4hours.

6.256^3 w/o port at 32hz lots of port area!
http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii97/Sonicscsi/chinxtaboi.jpg

now i see it i think id rather have a more rectangular port.. but no taller than the sub itself. so if you could adjust, thatd be koo

thanks

nvm.. if i just adjust the sides and keep the port area the same it would be the same as the original right?

All the sides are measured in 3/4 MDF 34" is the width =)

I always add the 3/4 measurements into the box design or 1" or 1/2" Depends on the person but i always do 3/4 unless the customer wants something different.

The box you design me, Reg Ported box 4.42^3 real @32hz

Is it before displacement or after displacement? For the FI Q 15". It might be to big, for the enclosure. If so, can you design another ported enclosure in the range of 3.5-4cf.

I need a design for two Pioneer 12" subs. They need about 1.65ft^3 for each speaker tuned to about 34hz. I would like space in between for my amp. I was thinking of using aero ports but slot ported would be fine too if I had the space.

Here you go!

I currently have (4) 12" D2 Eclipse SW7200s in my 99 Nissan Sentra GXE. They are facing inside the cab. I hit 145.9 on an AC180. So it's loud, but I don't like sealed.... I'm into ported.

I need a box built for 3 12s ported, or a really BIG box for 2 12s ported.

I measured my trunk and the specs are as follows:

Opening of the trunk: 36" (That's sliding the box straight in - if angling the box up you only have 12" to work with)

High: 16" MAX
Length: 43" (43.5") MAX
Deep: 22"
--------------------------------------
This is the current box I have in the trunk:

Front of the box: 26" Long
Back of the box: 43" Long
Angle from front to the side: 13"
Square side: 13"
... (Which makes it 26" Deep)
Hieght: 14

These are some pictures of what I'm talkin' about:

These (2) are pictures of the angle part of box

I'm really hoping that I can get a (3) 12" ported box with these dimensions... But if not, I guess I'll have to go w/ 2 or stick with what I have.

Thanks in advance, and let me know what all can be done.

hey jesse if you could do this for me i would appreciate it man.i got a 93 chevy 1500 reg cab pickup. i am putting 2 12"s in there(or atleast hoping to) they are the memphis m class. 5.5 in mounting depth. i would like to have a box that would enable my seat(drivers side) to not have to be moved up at all but if the other seat(passengers bench seat) needs to be then thats fine but if there is a possible way to have a box all the way across with out having to move the seats up that would be good. but if there isnt ill move the bench seat up and just have the box behind there instead of behind mine. sealed is fine but if there is a way to make it ported and tuned to like 35 hz then let me know.

thanks,

Hey - hopefully you are still doing box designs...

I plan on installing a Kicker Solo x 10" in an 04 Tahoe. I will be keeping the 3rd row seats functional and have been in contact with Kicker and these are the dimensions given to me from them.

Ported 31” w x 22”h x 12.75 b 9” t (break starts around 16"h) - the sub will be side firing towards passenger side

Port 4” x 10.5” opening x 19.75” long - port is to be top firing forward into cab of truck.

Tuning will be at what you design (would like for it to hit hard but will mainly be used for ed listening)

Your help is greatly appreciated!!!
