booooo for the cold affecting sound/mid-bass!!

i have noticed as of late that my mid-bass is sub-par. i'm 100% sure it's because of the cold. before it dropped into the 20's and 30's here i was completely happy and actually at some points thought i had to much mid-bass in certain songs. now thats it's colder it's kinda lacking. anybody else notice this? or maybe my ears just really really good.

he's showing a considerable raise in FS from 58hz to 83hz from 70 degrees to 40 degrees. thats a huge difference. some of the other specs changed quite a bit too. thats disappointing. well that means no more major tweaking of eq's or stressing about the SQ till spring time. hahaha

not sure what QM and VAS are but they changed drastically as well.

ive always thought my subs performed different when they are cold vs warmed up. Like first turn em on after sitting all day in 30 degrees, vs 70 degree day or warmed up.

What really changed was the compliance of the suspension. That has an effect on Qms (and thus Qts) as well as Vas and Fs.

my sub seems to hit better when its colder. it doesnt get 20 here much, but i'm talking 40s-50s

I find my bass response is tighter when my sub is cold, but once she warms up she wangs.

yes what everybody is saying is true.

bass will sound louder and maybe better when it's colder. to an extent. but when the rubber surrounds and spiders start to really stiffen up then things change for the worst.
