Build looks good. Only thing I noticed, is there gonna be enough space to mount subs? Looks a lil small? Could jus be the pic but sweet setup

Yeah i was concerned about that too but there is around an inch of space and the subs only hang about half an inch past the hole. I dropped my Treo 15 in the holes and it was a perfect fit.

try 1/2" spacing on those flare cuts

Thanks I will try that. That was just a scrap piece I was practicing on. It didnt come out as a 90 degree angle:crap:

What made me the most happy about this box is that my joints were absolutely perfect. The only sanding I had to do was on the screw holes.

I also took IgnoreMe's advice and used wood glue instead of liquid nails.

could keep the port and face of box flush, not a huge deal otherwise looks pretty clean!

I hate the look of the baffle. Adding two small pieces above and below the port will help aesthetics so much. Other than that, it doesn't look bad but the picture quality *****.

Yeah I do random stupid stuff like that to make it look slightly unique lol. Actually the double baffle was a last minute change in plans so thats why it isnt flush.

Yeah, camera phone FTL. The batteries on my digital camera died right as I snapped the first shot. I thought about adding 2 pieces to the port but my girl likes the way it is so im just not even gonna mess with it.

Haha, her opinion stands stronger than this entire forums' so you better stick with it the way it is!

Get some better pics without a cheesy border when your batteries are recharged.

Im going to do a dual mach5 15" box myself. sometime next spring/summer. I really want to know the internal cu ft. of the box.

JLJunkieMX107

7.2 cubic feet but with port and sub displacement, 6 cubic feet. I will have some vids up later today.

dimensions are 36" wide, 16" height, and 26.5"depth. The port is 5.5" x 16" so there is 88 square inches of port. The port takes up exactly one cubic foot of space.

awesome. My plan is almost identical to yours except my port is going to be on the right side instead of in the middle.

do you have any bracing, or is that why you put the port in the middle?

I was going to do some internal bracing but because of the port its was sturdy enough. This box is just for a daily driver so I am not terribly concerned about flex issues.

sh*t guys. I was going to install this box and my d*mn transmission went out AGAIN!!!! 3rd time in the past year. I am so beyond pissed. Im about to go to a dealership tomorow and get an Sdime and be done with the stupid japanese bullsh*t.

Then to top that off, my g/f came to pick me up. We put all my system stuff in her car, she goes to start it and nothing! So her brother came down to try and get it goin. We messed with it for over an hour and couldnt get it to start. So their dad comes over and figures out it was just a blown fuse. We felt pretty stupid.

Then to make the day as sh*tty as can be, we tried to install the box in the trunk. The thing is too long to fit inside the trunk hole. I am super pissed and ready to kill something lol.

I was going to try that but there is about a 5 inch lip that hangs down so it cant go through. Im going to have to take out the whole back seats to make it work

3x the same problem on a newer purchased car.... Might want to look into local (maybe federal) lemon law. Usually = new vehicle

The tranny is still on a 2 year 12,000 mile warranty and its only been in my car for 6 months. It's the 2nd one they have put in and they have all crapped out due to manufacturer error. Im thinkin a lawsuit is in order

warranty (so far as I know) does not matter whatsoever on the lemon law. Them saying, "well we can keep fixing it for free," does not weigh in on your claim of a lemon. its designed to protect you (the consumer) from someone trying to sell you a vehicle with a unfix-able (or considerably unreliable) problem.

Taken from http://www.lemonlawamerica.com/state_laws/tennessee.htm

55-24-205. Presumptions - Term of protection - Notice to manufacturer.
It shall be presumed that a reasonable number of attempts have been undertaken to conform a motor vehicle to the applicable express warranties, if:

The same nonconformity has been subject to repair four (4) or more times by the manufacturer or its agents or authorized dealers, but such nonconformity continues to exist; or

The vehicle is out of service by reason of repair for a cumulative total of thirty (30) or more calendar days during the term of protection.

The term of protection and such thirty-day period shall be extended by any period of time during which repair services are not available to the consumer because of a war, invasion, strike or fire, flood or other natural disaster.

It shall be the responsibility of the consumer, or the representative of the consumer, prior to proceeding under the provisions of 55-24-203, to give written notification by certified mail directly to the manufacturer of the need for the correction or repair of the nonconformity. If the address of the manufacturer is not readily available to the consumer in the owner's manual or manufacturer's warranty received by the consumer at the time of purchase of the motor vehicle, such written notification shall be mailed to an authorized dealer. The authorized dealer shall upon receipt forward such notification to the manufacturer. If, at the time such notice is given, either of the conditions set forth in subsection (a) already exists, the manufacturer shall be given an additional opportunity after receipt of the notification, not to exceed ten (10) days, to correct or repair the nonconformity.

Great. I just called the tranny company that warrantied my tranny and they went bankrupt. Now all warranties are null and void.

Yeah, it isn't just the Japanese stuff, though. You gotta love the stuff outa Korea. My mom has an '04 Accent by Hyundai. The transmission went out 500 miles outside the factory warranty (only 60K miles for second owner, FYI). The factory eventually (after two weeks of arm twisting) split the repair cost with her. Not the retail repair cost, the ~$1500 "@ dealer cost" number. She is on her third Hyundai, though. That might be why they agreed to help at all.

Then there is my Mustang GT...

Modded, drag raced, and just generally abused for the last 4 and a half years...

...nothing. Nothing beyond oil changes, that is. Bulletproof.

My mom just drove hers around for 10 months. She is reasonably hard on her little daily-driver, though.

...

As to the rest of your day, if you would have won the lottery in the morning, you would have cured world hunger by noon and solved world peace by the time you went to bed. Because it started as a crappy day though, the crap just piles on andonandonandon.

It never rains but it pours, right?

Hopefully today is a better day for you.

Well I had to cut down the box and rebuild it in the trunk. Its hella loud, flexing the rear fenders quite a bit. Vids will be up on saturday.
