so what do you guys think...andrew dropped this off to me like two weeks ago and he painted it for me but it looked like the mdf reallly soaked it up so i decided to primer it and paint it again with a nice little shine to it. Added some hinges and it turned out better then i thought.

i know i should have sanded it a bit to make it nice and smooth but eh it looks good to me :D

what do you guys think:

how it came to me:

You should have used spray primer and paint. The brush strokes really show!It has a good sheen to it but it would look a ton better if it was smooth.

definitely looks good, now where are the installed pics lol. Good to see people building things and taking pride in what they have built

x2 on either using spray on primer or at least finish sanding before you painted to eliminate the brush strokes. Otherwise it looks good...

Good luck your off to a good start. But if you make the box look too good then your rack will look that much worse.

Not hard to fix.Just DA it down smooth and hit it with a couple coats of spray primer, sand that with 400grit,then you can spray it with the glossy black and it should come out looking right. Its all in the prep so don't skimp and you won't be disappointed.Keep us posted!

You can still sand it and repeat the primer/paint process.

heh.. yeah good stuff happens when you do work :)

i think i've decided.. i should do the same thing to the box so my amp rack and box matches. it doesnt look that bad.. the camera just reveals the waves more.

I really wish i had a MD42 though. US Amps doesnt make the older model anymore and flakko said the factory wants to keep the ones they have left. there was one on ebay last week, i was so close to winning it but i was outbidded in the last 5 seconds. =[
