I'm looking for just a pair of 6.5" mid range drivers with superb SQ, require less than 2.5" of mounting depth, are 4 ohm, and will handle 75wrms. I thought Parts Express used to sell raw drivers for car audio applications, but for some reason I'm not able to find them there. Any suggestions?

I've checked on both Parts Express and Madisound. PE has a few 6.5 mids, but nothing listed with less than 2.25" mounting depth. Madisound's web site is not very user friendly. They may have something that'll work, but you can't search their site by speaker size. The only way you can search is by brand, and it's a pain in the butt. It's hard to tell just what they have searching that way.

As I said in the other thread, check out diymobileaudio, register and make a post over there. They have FAR more knowledge on raw drivers than most of the regulars here combined.

If you can't find something off of PE or madisound (or they can't) then you're **** out of luck lol.

I did and so far I've been recommended this one:

I know CDT makes good speakers. I wonder if these are any good?

Ouch with the 2.25" mounting depth. Say hello to Morel. You won't find a lot of options that shallow.

I'd suggest you make every effort you can to allow you to fit deeper drivers. You really want to shoot for 3"-3.5" of workable depth. A lot of the better drivers out there are not shallow.

I'll add www.solen.ca to the list too.

I'll guess I'll have to keep looking for the ones that are.
