Will a set of Phoenix Gold Rsd 6.5" components be able to take 150 rms without any issues? I'm looking at getting a pair of these, and running them off my JL 300/2

Thanks guys. :D

Yay! Are these really as good as everyone says they are? Besides the midbass, how do the tweeters sound?

There are some great reviews here and over at diymobileaudio forum that state they are terrific.

ive really only heard one review on here that said the midbass wasnt good.....but they also admitted they didnt do any deadening.....most people say the midbass is great.

Did you read the most recent review (http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=264644)?

they are a very good set of speakers. they have a very nice sounds from the mid-bass all the way up to the highs. the mid-bass is amazing and the tweeters on axis are sick as well. they play loudly and are very detailed but do NOT sound a bit harsh. i listen to metal, and rock and they are sweet for it. they will be fine on an amp with the gains set for 150 per side.

if you want to get technical about it, notice i didn't say they will take 150 watts rms, (with the gains set with a dmm for 150 even using a -3db test tone to set them) they will not see an actual 150 watts rms when playing music. they might see 150 for a very slight peak, but not for very long. i have mine on a ZX550.2 with the gains set the way i just described and they get plenty loud.

thanks, i would estimate that when i have them cranked pretty loudly that they might be seeing 80-100 watts rms at the most.

I rarely look at threads where there is a gross misspelling in the title.

They can probably handle am amp in which the gains are set for 150w rms. Hopefully Gary S will chime in and confirm this.
