I have 2x 15in Alpine Type Rs and I am unsure how to measure the sub displacement in the box. is there a formula to figure this out me be sure that I have the right amount of cubes after I build my box

you should be able to go to Alpines website and it should have that in the specs for that sub.
just figure about .1 cuft a woofer. this number is always very small.

0.123 cu. ft that's straight from the alpine website for a 15" type ARGHHHHH
Edit: if you have trouble with math that's .246 cu. ft for both of them.

so I would take that amount off the total cubes of the box?

what did i say, .1 cubes :)
and yes, subtract that from your net.
