i am about to start building my box and i am stuck these two sizes.....since i am a n00b at box building i am basically going to copy the design right off the kicker manual....

but i am stuck on either the 1.75cf or the 2.25 cf. According to these specs the 2.25 is tuned to 38hz and the 1.75 is tuned to 42hz..

suggestions?

btw: if it helps i have the U.S. Acoustics USX-800D amp

alright... so now that ive decided to go with the 2.25cf box, i wanted to change the tuing so it was closer to about 33-35hz. so i decided to make the port a bit longer.....

namtaru -
have you built your - 2.25 cubic feet ported box
for your 10''L7 using the kicker ported box spec
from there web site. how does the 10'' L7 sound
in the kicker spec box.

Thz ur links again...I figure out that the port size that I calculate for a 4.5cb ft box in 35Hz is very different to kicker's recommanded szie....which one should I follow??

after much consideration, comments, and suggestions.... I ended up building the 2.25ft^3 off kickers website to a T EXCEPT i made the port 22" instead of 18"

It sound really ince, the lows hit hard and deep and don't miss at all. The only thing that is going to be in the back of my mind is what it would of sounded like built to kickers specs :(

Also...i have enough wood left over to build me a sealed enclosuer too....which i will probably do over the summer...

mmmmmm.... sealed L7, doesnt sound good to me....ide say screw around with ported, bigger box, different hz. If you want sealed no biggy, will take like an hour to make, but i peronally dont like em sealed...
