If you can go with component speakers, you should... you are in the right price range for a great set.

If you want something loud and clear, I'd recommend either a set of Boston Pro60 components, or a set of Rainbow Powerline CMX 265 components.

GlasSman here on the forums has a brand new set of the CMX's for sale for $270 shipped, I believe. That's a pretty good deal on those. Search the Classified section for them.

On a silver platter....I'm sure he'll take less than $300 shipped for them by now. :)

x3... AudioBahn - teh sukk.

Others to consider:

Rainbow SLC 265 Kick (about $280 shipped from an authorized dealer here on the forum)
Pioneer Premier TS-C720PRS
Cerwin Vega V-Max 65 (http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=18508) (they are convertible components)
Rainbow CMX 265 Kick (about $330 shipped if you can stretch your budget)
PG RSD65cs (http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=17540) (give them a clean 2x110-150w rmsWhat kind of power do you have on tap? Some of the above will need quite a lot to reach their full potential (upwards of 2x225-250w rms for the CMX Kicks, for example)

You're likely not going to find them for under $300 shipped on eBay and under $350ish from an online retailer.
