I'm looking at getting a pair of Rainbow CMX 265 comps for the front of my car. (6.5). I mainly listen to rap,but i also listen to alot of metal/rock. would these be good? Also, what amp would be best with these speakers? I don't really understand much about tweeters, so if someone could explain what they are, that would be great. If the tweeters arn't on the actual speaker, then where would they go? noob question...i know. lol. Thanks for the help.

Yep. And for $30 more, you can get the Kick version.

No, they're garbage. Send them to me, and I will properly dispose of them in a sanitary landfill. :D

you can't go wrong with them, they are far better than what you can get at the chain stores

cool, what amp would you recommend with these speakers?

Give them anywhere from 180w rms to 250w rms and you will make them happy. Are you running a subwoofer to take over the lower frequencies? If so you may want to check out the Kick version.

Have you considered a single Type X in the recommended sealed enclosure size?

Session25

no, i like the r's better than the x's.

The Rs are ok if your on a budget and can be hard to beat if you want some cheap SPL. The SQ of them is eh negotiable.

Fair enough.

Agreed. Although I have heard some Type R setups that were fairly decent. Nothing a single IDQv3 or Fi Q wouldn't take care of. ;)

I think the Rainbow dealers on here deserve a sticky thread!

Theres seriously been alot of people recently asking where they can get them from and instead of us constantly telling people, why not have a sticky :)

I have mine installed for about a week now. I'm still trying to figure out where I would like to place my tweeters. I like them on the door panel right below the door sail but I don't want to drill through my door panels. I might end up just placing them on the door sails.

Hey aeon,
I wanted to talk to you about your CMX Kicks....could you either hit me up on AIM or send me an email to shibagirls@yahoo.com?

Thanks!

I understand the this set comes with titanium cal25 tweeters. I have heard many harsh sounding metal tweeters in the past. How do these compare? Is the cal25 smoother than most metal tweeters? How does it compare to the cal25 silk tweeter in the SL 265 line?
