Question about a 13w7 with a 500/1v2

I have a 13w7 powered by a 500/1v2 in my car. The 13 is in a sealed box, THIS (http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_enclosures.php?menu=5&prod_id=304) one to be more specific.

I see the 13 has a rating of 1000w, and some people have told me that i'm underpowering it. The deck has a 5.5volt output and the amp is set with input sens. all the way up. I have a RBC-1 (remote boost controller) but its not hooked up.

i mean, is this as good as it gets? should i just get the 1000/1? is it that much different?

yes you are underpowering it, go with the 1000 for sure.

You are definitely underpowering it. And you may want your intput sens. set correctly before you do damage to your 500/1.

the jl 13w7 can handle more power than what it is rated at, the jl 500 will be under power that sub for sure.
