Finally took the plunge and ordered one last week from sonic. Showed up today, so I at least opened the box. I really like the simple look of it, reminds me of decent mid/hi end home audio stuff.

Plan on installing it tomorrow. I've been using the Helix amp to control my active front stage, but figure now I can take the guess work out of xover settings, have more control over slopes, EQ'ing, TA, etc... I was already very happy with how it sounds, but hopefully this will bring a little more out once I'm done tweaking.

Plan on grounding it directly to the battery, and also grounding HU chassis to the body.

No ****, that's why I'm grounding directly to battery and grounding HU chassis. I researched the crap out of the Pico fuse issues and it seems that they're VERY sensitive to RCA's being plugged in/unplugged when the unit is on and also if the ground is poor the HU tries to use the RCA's for ground and the Pico goes poof.

Wish me luck...:D

Grounded mines straight to the chassis and it ended up working fine.

Why in the world would someone buy a head unit that they know will need fixing and special needs right out of the box?

Just silly!

I don't understand how everyone can have all these problems with their rca's on that unit. Just have to make sure you have the ground hooked up first before everything else.

Overall its a very good deck...packed with features...but does have a very sesitive grounding...so precaution needs to be taken during use and installation.....

Thanks for clarifying CRX, exactly the reason I bought it and knowing ahead of time that it's a little sensitive I should be fine.

Paid $319 delivered from sonic

Doing the ground last would seem to be the opposite of what I'd want to do as if it's already got power, couldn't it try to use the RCA's as ground?

And I'm running power/ground directly to battery, no biggie...
