why not just a regular slot port?

aero port construction diminishes basically all port turbulence and often add 1-2db from a direct switch

its not an aero port tho, its just pvc, which makes horrible port noise from my experience. But it looks nice.

and by having the ports directly on the bottom of the box it'll change tuning some, making it a little lower which probably isn't a bad thing.

How does it sound???

lol, thats getting a system too, but it'll be much more simple & lighter. I was accually thinking about using birch wood for that box. I hear it's a little lighter. :)

nice build you got there. Hows the rl-p compare to some good 15's ?MY personal opinion is that they are one of the best subs out there for SQ with the ability to get very loud. :)

Good news, bad news.

Good news is that I got the box in, and reworked my air management system to fit. I still need to do some tuning with the amp, but it sounds great so far.

Bad news is that I found 2 cracks in my air tanks around the ports. So I can't drive the truck anywhere to listen to the 18". :furious:

Anyways, here's a few pix to hold us over. I still need to clean up a few wires to the right of the box.

Man, this 18" is loud as hell. Far exceeded what I though it would be. It moves a lot of air, and gets very loud. The SQ for an 18" is fantastic. this thing looks & sounds great. :fro:

Just playing, great choice on driver and very nice box. I imagine that blazer is quite loud now. Its prob a silly question, but is it digging those low notes really well at that tune?
